MGT Only: More Missions for Book 3: Scout

If you have the MgT Scout book, you've seen they did a very comprehensive look at the types of Missions a Detached Duty Scout could be recalled for - Contact, Courier, Exploration, Special Operation, and Survey. There is one more type of Mission that a DD Scout could be recalled for. I call them "Necessity" Missions. For some reason, the Imperium needs the help of the Scout Ship and it is recalled. Not always for the Scout Service.

"Necessity" Missions
1 - Search and Rescue
2 - Interdiction Picket
3 - Planetary Quarantine
4 - Escort Duty
5 - Decoy
6 - System Defense

EDIT: You can change the Employer Details table at the bottom of pg. 31 to:

Employer Details
1d6 Branch
1 - Contact
2 - Courier
3 - Exploration
4 - Necessity
5 - Special Operations
6 - Survey

I might have to come up with a better word than "necessity". Maybe 'duress'.

I suppose so. And of course, even if a particular ship isn't ideal for a role it could always be a case of "the rest of the fleet's too far away".
 
In MGT, the ability to mount a decent weapon in that badboy is shocking...

Note that the core rules don't require a specific PP level to use PA's. And a PA is 3d damage plus a crew hit... put three of those in a turret... and it becomes a bit of a threat. (There's a reason I still use the power point rules from draft 3.2... because I can abuse the hell out of the corebook!)
 
I noticed the same for Pulse and Beam Lasers. You had to have a higher Power Plant to use them for the Scout, but I couldn't find the rule anywhere in the book.

If just the modifications in HG (page 47) didn't say:

Only one particle beam may be fixed to a turret, but this must be a triple turret.

See this thread about the issue. Even so, the PB is the best weapon to fit on it, as it keeps being the most letal it can mount and, as you say, no power limits are given in MgT for less than bays (small crafts excluded).
 
Given how ridiculously the Power Plant for any ship is overpowered for normal usage, I cannot see a limitations on power usage by turrets, unless you had a LOT of turrets.
