Blade Runner (Director's Cut)
A Clockwork Orange
Rollerball (forget the remake)
Soylent Green
The Omega Man
Alien
Outland
Cyberpunk schmyberpunk you have to admit that there is something intriguing and endearing about the 60's portrayal of the future. Take Rollerball's portrayal of Multinational conglomerates isn't that a bit more realistic portrayal of the future and more in line with what eventually occurred in the Traveller universe?

Though books are my primary sources of inspiration for all things Traveller.
Specifically: Dune, the first three Foundation books, and on the lighter side The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.

I've got to agree, it's usually books that get me going for Traveller. The Foundation series definitely, those and the Falkenberg's Legion series by Jerry Pournelle.
I find it hard to believe that anyone would admit to watching "Megaforce" more than once. I watched it once when I was 16 and am still scarred 20 years later.
Film/TV
V - the first series for TV. Anyone wonder where the idea for Independence Day came from? And we taste good, too!
Space 1999 - the lander was a GREAT piece of kit, and Moonbase Alpha inspired one of my settings.
Books
Macroscope - by Piers Anthony. I crossed the macroscope with an ancients site. Voila, the creation of the infinite jump drive (but could they figure out how to use it)....
Life, the Universe and Everything - by Douglas Adams. I also created a artifact ship with the Infinite Improbability Drive....
Judge Dredd (the comic). One issue has the fight between the Judges and their Russian counterparts (who unknown to the Judges are armed with man portable meson guns!!!)
Ahhhh, memories!

5) Bladerunner. (Origional Cut - _not_ director's cut. For once the studio's were right.)
4) Star Trek - The Voyage Home. Managed to combine one of GR's patented messages (and admittedly one that needed being made) with enough humor and the cast taking it seriously enough to work but not seriously enough to drag it down. The cinema equiv to XTC's Peter Pumpkinhead... ;'p
3) Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back. Everyone knows this was the best and I'd say it was due to Liegh Hamilton's pure simple space opera. Our greatest loss was that she died after this and wasn't available to salvage that disaster of Jedi... Sigh...
2) Star Wars - A New Hope. Pure and Simple, the finest bit of space opera put to film.
Not as subtle as ESB, but it's stregnth was as ten because it's heart was pure...
1) Kelly's Heros. Yeah, it's not SF technically, but if you don't see why it's here, you've never run a real Traveller Campaign... ;'>
So it goes in my mind...

I'm going to still have to disagree about the Blade Runner issue although the superior version is Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, but I agree wholeheartedly about Kelly's Heroes.

They make real pretty colors when they explode...Scares the hell out of people.

Utterly agreed on androids, but neither film really attempted to do that book. As the saying goes, names were changed to protect the innocent... ;'p
Glad you see the reason behind my oddball comment and didn't try to lay any negative waves on me...

TV:
Farscape
Babylon 5
Andromeda (sometimes)
Original Star Trek and DS9 (especially the last 8 episodes with the war)
Any kind of soap or serial drama when I want to spice up the players lives (honestly - some drawn out angst ridden personal problems ala Dawson or felicity can do wonders to role playing)
CSI and Law and Order are great for when PC's are both the cops and the bad guys and you need ideas
Movies
Mummy and Mummy Returns
all the Indiana Jones flicks
Final Fantasy - the first time the marines show up, I thought it was the drop troops
Any good Hong Kong flick
The James bond movies - especially the Sean Connery and Peirce Brosnan ones
fifth Element
The Professional and La Femme Nikita (and the TV series too)

Cant forget Charles Bronson in the Mechanic. Best assassin movie ever.
Kelly's Heros - every mercenary campaign comes to this eventually
Battle Beyond the Stars - eew! i have always said there is an unwritten rule in Hollywood: "All Sci-Fi movies we make must SUCK." as proof i offer Battle Beyond the Stars. just... eew!
Space Above and Beyond - loved the show, but ever since i have to constantly explane to my players "No, your character can not be a Sylean Ranger AND a Rampart fighter pilot!"
Bladerunner - cyberpunk, not sci-fi. never used it in Traveller myself, but i must say Origional Cut - nothing else will do.
Outland - i have run that as a Traveller adventure at Cons at LEAST 4 times over the years.
Aliens - i think it is the only sequil that was as good or better than the original movie. the Merc bug hunt is SOOO trite and overdone, but Traveller did it first (re: Charmax Plague).
Odd Ball was more interesting that Hudson, but Hudson had better one liners.
