I'm sure there's nothing wrong with T20, anymore than with MT or any other version. Its just that I'm such an obsessive tinkerer with the rules that it has often driven players insane. I'm a "systems" kinda a guy and love fiddling with house rules to tailor things to fit better in my game.
Nothing too unusual about that, and if I used the OTU it would probably be easier for everyone since it wouldn't mean messing with a lot of things that are unique to my TU that has been running in some form or another since 77 uses only the first 5 books and Striker. I even have my own version of expanded chargen for Scouts since mine are more like the ones in LBB1. All of the aliens are unique and so on.
So everytime I've had a wild-eyed idea and decided to say, change the whole thing to a percentile based system like we were using for Runequest and Call of Cthulhu (that one actually worked pretty good), or switched to Striker (hit and miss there), or change to Megatraveller (too tied to OTU) it was too much work on mine and everyone else's part to convert all the stuff I had.
And now that I've started running the game again after an absence of a few years I decided to just pare it all back to the basics and original roots of my universe. Sword & Blaster space opera, original CT combat system with a few very minor changes to boost the protection of combat and battle dress to reflect TL, and just 6 sided dice. Bare bones adventure oriented.
I think I was playing the Traveller rules too much before and had forgotten how to play Traveller. I'm afraid if I let my self be tempted to stray I'll just fall down that rabbit hole again.
BTW: whats your store's website? If you have one?
I build model planes and ships, if you sell those - and maybe some gaming materials I need I'll add you to my list of sources. Even living here in Portland I do almost 90% of my purchasing online since brick n' mortar stores are drying up. Sigh...gone are the days of wandering for hours in the local game store and chatting with all the regulars.
