I'd grade lifeboats on sustainability.

How about using any ship vehicles for a power source? A pressurised air/raft, ATV or G-Carrier could keep a crew of a dead ship alive for months. If the crew/passengers are to many, use it's powerplant to run the vaccsuits for those outside and take turns doing shifts inside the vehicle?

There are lots of possible loopholes.

One thing I noticed was that (re)igniting the fusion reactor is not really covered.
