No, good suggestion but for a number of reasons (off-axis docking, protecting docking ships, etc.) I think I like it best where it is.
 
I would have to agree with Mick on that one placing it in the turrets is the only logical configuration for this ship. As for docking whilst in combat. One can assume the computers can talk to one another to coordinate this type of thing (thank God for Internal Dampers) plus think of a real life aircraft carrier. While cruisers and other assorted ships to provide support those ships still can some very big guns.
 
Just a thought on the armament configuration. The port side looks like a total blind spot. I guess with Traveller 15 minute combat rounds that does not really matter. I have never really studied the HG or MT capital ships combat, but I know there is a 'batteries bearing' stat. Any thoughts on how that would effect this design?
 
IMTU, most HG starship encounters are between 'ships of the line', and this design concept intentionally reflected that idea in literal configuration.

Moreover, there are turrets facing 'other than starboard' on the aft module, and on the command section that should provide some degree of protection.

As you may know, I have taken over the developement of the Dungeonforge software.

I have a version that can now do alot of neet things. I would like to try out your ship to see if there are any problems with my program before I release it to the first stage beta testers.

I get to find bugs in the code and you get a deckplan if you want it.
