Self Propelled Machinegun

Okay, back to the original problem of requiring an HMG to be more portable for light troops. Everyone seems to have forgotten that the Soviets for years mounted their heavy MG's on wheeled carriages that could be easily manoeuvred by a 2 man crew. If that's not good enough why not make the weapon easily broken down to or assembled from 3 parts; barrel, receiver and tripod. Much cheaper and can be man-packed (with much grumbling) over good distances. Oh yeah, they already do that. ;)

What was that sound? It sounded like a thousand palms slapping a thousand foreheads...

No it just proves we are military contractors. Sigg is just a yahoo jury rigging something in his back yard. Hmm isn't unlicensed weapon research illegal? Contact our space lawyers.

If you can grav-carry a Plasma/Fusion gun, you can grav-carry a HMG/Gauss SAW.

A mortar is another thing - won't it need a "fire control center" according to Striker?

games workshop did a 'rapier' mobile laser thingy, and a tarantula (i think?) grav gun sled. both with semi remote control, not bad ideas.
