Size and Name of font used in the LBBs of CT fame...

Good afternoon, All,

Does anyone know the name and size of the font used in the LBBs of CT fame? I think I've heard it referred to as Optima, but I'm not sure. I also don't know the point size.

What about that used in the FASA "fanzines" for CT?

Curiosity killed the cat...

The LBB Front-Cover Rendering Machine uses font size 30. But that LBB is a bit too small. On an actual LBB the text is about 1/2 an inch high (for the text "TRAVELLER"). Checking it on my computer, it is close to font size 58.

Although, what looks good on my computer might look different on yours...

Maybe I should have an option to make a correct size LBB in the rendering machine? Any other new requests at the same time? Maybe a FASA styled LBB?

Cool. Do you know about the body text of the interior of those books? I guess what a Microsoft Doc would probably call the "Normal" style?

Thanks, btw, for the quick responses, Berka. I appreciate it.

You already did backs for me.

But the ability to generate Kieth-esque covers (like on the "Environment" Guides) would be kind of cool (user would have to supply the background transparent image or something), and yes FASA LBB covers would be neat, though clearly you could not use the logo... ;)

I was going to ask you, in light of what was discussed in the "What If?" thread, if they ever do decide to make a limited license available for a bunch of us to crank out adventures, and they don't force us into a particular look and feel, I was wondering if you would consider letting us use your wonderful tool to generate front and back covers?
(It is too soon to talk details, but I'm thinking just in general - I want to recapture the LBB feel).

Offhand it's all Optima. Not sure on the point size. I'd guessestimate 12 point. Best bet IMO is to to see if one of the Ancients who frequent this board answers. This might include Joe Fugate Sr. as from his answers he showed familiarity with GDW's printing process.

The body text is not Optima, it's probably just Helvetica or its slightly more sophisticated cousin Univers. Arial will work fine. As for point size, you'll just have to guestimate.
