TL-9 shell is AV-4 (B2 p282). You round down, unless otherwise instructed.

Are you able to point me in the direction of this in the BBB? I found references in BBB1 (say p19 and p52 to start off with) that refer to rounding up or rounding in favour of the player.

I was referring to armour, not a generic rule:

TL-9 shell armour has armour value 4.


I would generally round against advantage, but that is probably a house rule in T5... B1, p19 and B1, p52 would fall under "unless instructed otherwise" for me.

Hence my confusion: BBB2 p72 below...

However. given the table you posted lists a value for Shell at TL11 being 5 instead of 6, that seems to indicate that in the case of shipbuilding at least rounding down takes place.
