Re imperial vessel screens. The SEH light cruiser only carries a nuclear damper. It is just not fitted with a meson screen or any real armour. Can't remember but I think the other big ship is the same.

Thanks for that, I seem to have misplaced my copy of battlerider somewhere but I think you are right regarding the lack of meson screens from memory Imperial cruisers tended to be rather poorly equipped in this area.

Just checked on the BARD site.

The TNE versions of the Rapier ED and the SEH LC do have weak meson screens, decent armour but are only 4G with no nuclear dampers. The MT/HG versions are the other way around, 6G, good nuclear dampers, no armour or meson screens.

I suppose that technically since the RC and Solee was a TNE invention that the TNE versions should be used. I am now doing an archeological dig to locate my copy of Battlerider, I would like to know how the TNE Rapier compares with MTs ED15 vessel.

My copy of Battlerider is here, I estimate two feet across and three down in the next pile I am to excavate.

I remember the Kinunirs in Solee service, these presumably were from a later construction series and therefore do not have black globes, but the pair of 700Mj laser barbettes would be a real bitch. The lasers 1/21-66 rating at all ranges would give the small spinal weapons of the RC ships something to think about once the Solee work out how to use all the TL15 technology of course.

Though Solee only had 1 Kinuir. Based on the Kinuir adventure book, these were deployed in the marches except for 1 given to the Vegans by the empress. Unless someone built some over in the rim area.

They look like a new build to me. I don't see how the one given to the Vegans would have ended up in Solee hands. On the other hand without a BG but with the big laser barbettes the Kinunirs make quite reasonable escorts. Though personally I would put back the missing 150Mj laser turrets (seems to be 4 short) and fit some defensive systems.
