I have a few lists of ship names that I add to whenever I stumble across another of the same class. I have one for winds, with some gems like Bad-i-sad-o-bistroz, Piteraq, and Tehuantepecer; one for sword names, in the event used mainly for old world names for my history of the Sword Worlds; one for arch-villains and one for animal "weapons" (Serpent's Tooth, Boar's Tusk, Cobra's Spit), both of which are somewhat tongue in cheek; one with flower names, used mainly for Chrysanthemum Class destroyers; one with names of titans from Greek mythology, used for a class of ships in a TCS campaign; one with Golden Cryphon class merchants (<color><mythological creature>), a ship class I wrote up for JTAS Online (with deck plans), and one with female great cats for Tigress Class dreadnaughts (I have 35 names, though some of those are kind of dodgy, and I've calculated that the Imperium has around 160 Tigresses ;)).

Liberty was attacked by the Israelis near the Suez during the six day war iirc, Pueblo was captured by North Korea.

"Thingwish" would be a horrible name but use it if you want.

"Thingsmear" and "Dame's Scrape" would be good bad-pirate names; they're simply "nightmares" and "dreamscapes" respelled.

In the Campaign i am currently running, the names of the ships serving or residing mostly in the cluster of worlds where the campaign takes place are;

Traders
Angel Beats - PC's Job, A upgraded Free Trader owned by Criideu Shipping.
Devils Hope - A slightly upgraded Free Trader.
Danger to Others - A Free trader
Sar - A Vargr Free Trader
Banner of Valour - The King trader of the cluster, a Fat Trader that's heavily armed

Pirate's
Breach - A Heavily converted seeker.
Huuchi - A Heavily converted Vargr Tramp trader

Imperial Navy
Sperring - A Super Light Carrier
Unnakaa - A Assault Corvette

Other
The Stalk - A Seeker
Buried - A Free Trader Jumpcusser
Sword - A Free Trader Converted in to a Yatch for an Imperial noble.

Not really had the real need yet to name any system bound ships yet and had no visitor's to the cluster yet either, as far as I know.
