Thanks for the links. I had seen the Claster English re-dubs back in the 70s (ah, youth...), but the picture and sound quality of the original is better, even on YouTube. The American editors "cleaned up" a lot of the violence, no jets of flame taking out crewmen, no screams of pain. Also, the Andromeda's tactics are clearer in the original: lure the Comet Empire fleet into Saturn's rings where their own weapons will work against them. Oddly, the version I saw left out the Earth fleet's dodge into the Cassini gap, which makes more sense.

Is it just me or does the "energy transport cannon" seem like a meson gun?

Any ideas if there plans to be a dubbed version? As I would love to know a great source for Japanese DVDs for someone who does not speak Japanese. As I am not a big fan of Anime but love the live action stuff and I can only imagine what they will do with a SF film...being a fan of the schlock era of Japanese cinema...seeing their horror films tells that everything has improved a hundred fold.

I would like to see a subtitled version. Most of the time the Japanese voice acting is better than the American (sometimes I wonder if most American seiyuu take it seriously).
