Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
Hans Rancke is probably the best source to answer your questions and he'll merely confirm many of the errors rather than provide "correct" UWPs in every case. Over 30 years a lot of errors have crept into the data. You'll find differing star types and PBG numbers all over.
Some of your questions can be answered however.
- That "trade" code of RsG in SMC isn't a trade code. It marks the location for Research Station Gamma. There's a RsA, RsB, etc.
- The "trade" codes of C0, C4, and the like found on TravWiki aren't trade codes either. They mark non-Imperial or non-human populations on Imperial worlds. C0 means that 0-9% of the world's population is Chirper. C4 would be 40-49%, A is Aslan, Z is Zhodani, etc. These mini-pop codes were added in RSB.
While the "Mystery Planet" was probably a copy error originally, it stayed around through MT before getting a Super Secret explanation in TNE.
Some of the stellar changes may also date to TNE, which adjusted some star types to account for updated RW stellar population understanding, and to bring those worlds with UWPs that *should* be habitable up to a useful temperature. High range MV stars have no Habitable range, while low range MV stars do, though just barely.
If all the Type VI stars have disappeared from the Wiki listing, that's another TNE reality check. Type VI stars are incredibly rare in the real Milky Way.
