I'm sure some of you know that the fantastic Star Trek series, Vanguard, has come to a close. It was planned from the beginning to be a story arc with a beginning, middle, and end.

But, fear not. The same authors that brought you Vanguard are returning to the Taurus Reach with new, stand-alone novels. The series is called --

STAR TREK - SEEKERS




You long time Traveller fans out there will be interested to know that this Vanguard sequel series is inspired by one of Traveller's own: Rob Caswell, who did a lot of fantastic Traveller art (among other things) for DGP. Do a Google Images seach for "Rob Caswell Traveller", and see what you get.

FYI, the first book of the new series is out: Star Trek Seekers - Second Nature by David Mack.

I don't like big story arcs. I think they're stupid. Classic Dr. Who had the key to time, which was pretty good. I've rarely seen others.

Classic Trek didn't have that. I don't see why it's being put into this thing. I exchanged thoughts with the artist who did the covers, and he was upbeat about them.

I may take a chance on the first one.

Like anything else, it depends on how well that the story is told.

I well told long story can be an amazing experience.

Classic Trek didn't have that. I don't see why it's being put into this thing.

I think the seven book tale of Star Trek Vanguard is awesome.

Just FYI, the original tale is a total of seven books and is one long story. These new Seeker books are episodic tales told in the aftermath of the original epic story.
