Starport deck plans?

Does anyone know of any generic Starport deck plans (or map)?

In the future... Im thinking of having an adventure centered around a large Class A or B starport.

thanks for any response

well, I have the beginnings of a naval station with a civilian wing. probably not what you want. are you sure you'd want actual deckplans of a large A port? such a facility would be very extensive. you might be better off with a general outline and a brief sketch.

Helpful web article if you go diy (or just use what is there):

Starport Module Catalog

...linked from past discussion on downports here:

Downports

Mentioned those because some of it applies to both highports and downports.

There was also a good downport article in an old Dragon magazine: Exonidas Starport (March 1982, pages 33-48).

And then there is also this not too old longish thread about the subject:

Starports

The Exonidas Spaceport article far trader mentioned is excellent. Since it's based on the author's own Traveller milieu which predated the official 3I setting - Jeff Swycaffer's Presidium, about which he wrote a series of Traveller novels published by Avon in the early 80s - there's some things that might not jibe with later Traveller material. But he covers all the essentials. I've always loved the idea of the gravitic landing grid - this is a busy Class A starport, and for landings and take-offs your ship is moved to and from orbit by ground-based grav generators run by traffic control.

Dan, do you (or anyone) know if this is one of the articles/issues available on those Dragon compilation CDs?

The old print JTAS had an issue devoted to starports - don't recall which one unfortunately.

S. John Ross/Cumberland Games' Points in Space Volume 1: Starport Locations and Space Station Interiors pdfs are generic enough. S. John Ross is very good at pdfs, fonts, and maps.

Gurps Traveller: Starports covers Starports in exhaustive detail along with several examples. It's also written by John M. Ford and has my favorite Jesse DeGraff book covers. I doubt you'd use all of it (and it is tied to GT systemwise) but there's lots there ripe for picking. With Gurps 4e out now a lot of Gurps 3e books can be had for cheap at places like Half-Price Books stores.

HTH.
