Starport Equipment

I found an old handwritten sheet (among my hundreds of other handwritten unorganized sheets) that gave percentages for encountering ancillary equipment at a starport. I don't remember at all where it came from, so I won't post it in its entirety in case i would violate copyright.

Basically, it gave percentages for encountering orbital stations, automated and manned tugs, shuttles, repair tugs, etc. I was thinking to myself, maybe it would be possible to look at the UWP and get a clear range of what is actually there, rather than vague percentages.

Has anyone come up with a method for determining trade volume from UWP data that would give a quality number?

Here's an example to work with...
Class B
Orbital station... 1 80% (9-)
Tugs... (1-3) 85% (1-) "harbor pilot' vessel, guides ship to station
Tenders... (2-12) 75% (9-) 'taxi' vessel
Repair Tug... (1-2) 60% (8-) 4 man repair party vessel + spares
Shuttle...(2-12) 90% (10-) standard non starship

the 2D numbers were added later by myself.
It would seem that some Free Trader Captain would know that the class B port on his next stop has an orbital port, and his regular factor never comes there, so he has to make special arrangements...and so on.

Looks like some info presented in the Judges Guild Traveller supplement, 101 Starbases.

This is actually one of the better JG supplements that includes some very good info for a CT game.

S4, are you sure? That sounds very much like one of the Starbase columns from White Dwarf, edited by Bob McWilliams. Think I've got it around here someplace.

Nope, not sure. But, I know the JG book has stuff like that in it. I've got the WD issues for Traveller, too--I think you're right about that.

Similiar info in both.
