Statting a Mehve

Scarecrow

SOC-14 1K
Go on then, how would you stat one of these? (any system) - I think it's somewhere between an air/raft and a grav-belt.

So, in CT terms, I reckon:

'Mehve' Anti-Grav jet-glider.
TL 8
Cr 200,000
.5 tons
A single person transport used primarily for sport and recreation, the Mehve has also seen service with the Imperial Marines and Scouts.
It uses a combination of light anti-grav modules and a lifting surface to become and remain airborne.
It uses a small jet engine for propulsion requiring an oxygen atmosphere, though solid fuel variants have appeared in minor numbers.
It cruises at around 100kph but speeds of up to 180 kph can be reached.
Steering is achieved by the pilot shifting their weight. These pressures are translated through the riding bars and related to the steering aelerons on the wings.
When at rest the Mehve sits on two small runners mounted on the forward ventral surface.
The Mehve is purely an interface vehicle and cannot reach atmosphere. Like an air/raft it has an effectively unlimited surface range and requires refuelling every ten weeks or so (that's a bit mental!). It can carry one pillion passenger but as it is not really designed to do so it is at a high cost to performance and speed.
There are two rifle stowage ports and a small compartment that can carry 10kg of personal belongings.

How's that?

I think I would make it TL 9, not 8 since you are using Grav Technology. (That comes in at TL9 doesn't it?)

Good job. Striker could be used. It is basically a variation of the Grav Bike.

I just went with 8 as that was what the Air/Raft (why did they use a slash?) was in the CT LBB's

I guess, if other rules systems have grav bikes then , yeah, it could easily just be the same stats.

I actually developed (For T20) A new class of vehicle, called "Boards", that covered vehicles that you 'ride' rather than drive. Unlike other vehicle classes, as long as it's controls were set up similiarly, you could use the same feat (And the Ride skill, as opposed to the Drive skill), to ride grav boards, jet boards, hover boards, surf boards, skate boards, etc. Some types are self-powered, others used muscle power (As per the rules in "Through the Waves").

Or use the Striker "Bike" category. IIRC you didn't include the volume required for the (single driver) crewstation, but did include the mass and cost (minor)

Vehicle armour protected the vehicle, not the rider, and "turret' hits tend to eliminate drivers pretty quickly.. (applied to the driver IIRC)

Lightly armoured and insanely gast grav bikes: no reason they can't look funky.

Striker stats will push this to TL-13 due to minimum powerplant volume (for fusion) although you could probably get a turbine powered grav "bike" at lower TL's at the speed ranges you are looking at.
