Page 307 - life support table

The emergency capsule is listed at 1 ton, 1 MCr, and supports 10 people for 15 days. Seems like this should be 1 person at that size.

If size is actually 10 tons, this would be a LifePod, as per page 305 under small craft, and should probably be removed from this table.

Page 327 - Lifters

The two footnotes in the lifters table should be separated from the table entries to match the other tables on the page.

Pgs 616 and 618

The section on Power Supplies is duplicated on both pages.

It seems possible that the entry from page 616 could be moved to page 617, and placed just above the section titled POWER CELLS, and the entry on page 618 removed.

Lifters - multiple pages

pg 255 and 474 - lifters are listed as speed 3 in the SPEEDS table
pg 323 - Lifters have an effective horizontal top speed of 50 kph. (Speed-5)
pg 325 - Lifters have an effective horizontal top speed of Speed-4 (about 25 kph).

Per the chart on page 327, lifter speed is based on TL -- TL-6 = Speed-2, increasing by one level each TL. For example, TL-9 is Speed-5, TL-13 is Speed-9.

For consistency, the pages should probably be updated to reflect speed at the "standard" TL. A footnote might also be appropriate for the speeds tables, similar to "Gravitics drive speeds are based on the Standard version "

As an addendum to a prior errata submission, there is a disparity in the standard TL for lifters. I've included all pages I found that gave a TL for lifters - not sure which TL is the standard.

Standard seems to be TL-8 on pages 290, 494
Standard seems to be TL-9 on pages 258, 259, 327
Standard seems to be TL-10 on page 503, and the Lift Plate on page 633 is based on TL-10, although this may be an improved version.

Page 328 - Alternate movers

Rocket to orbit, in several places, uses S= instead of R= when referring to ranges.

Fo example the right column heading Rocket To Orbit S=8 should read Rocket To Orbit R=8 instead

Page 351

The TL availability chart shows collectors are standard at TL-14.

Table C shows standard Collector-1 available at TL-13.

It appears the left column (TL column) is off by 1, and should start at TL-11

Page 358

Under the description of the Neutrino detector the last sentence of the second paragraph should read The Neutrino Detector can also detect Fusion+ modules.

Page 359

Under the Anaylzer/Sniffer, the paragraph The Sample Process should end with gathers atmospheric and soil samples appropriately labeled with the date, time and location for later analysis.

Page 360 - Mass Detector

Page 360 shows a Mass Detector under the sensor listing.

All other pages refer to that sensor as a Mass Sensor.

Page 303: Defenses

The table DE Defense Range Effects that has ranges T thru 7, with mount values.

The header says Mount (Bolt-in). The values for ranges 5 thru 7 do not match the numbers for weapons or sensors. For example, I'd expect the pulse or beam laser to use the standard ranges as listed under weapons, and match the range table on page 301.

Is this table really for bolt-in mounts only, and the other mounts use the standard ranges???

Maybe there should be two defense range tables -- one for bolt-ins, and one for other mounts???

Page 39: Educational Waivers

This paragraph states:

A student attending an Education Institution and who receives an adverse die roll or decision (Prerequisite, Application Check, Pass/Fail Check, Honors) may try for a Waiver. To receive a Waiver, Check Soc or less (2D); Mod minus number of previous waivers rolled (successful or not).

"Check Soc" should be changed to "Check C6", otherwise sophonts with Cas or Cha cannot get waivers.

"previous waivers rolled" should be changed to "previous waivers rolled in any educational or training activity" to clarify that there is a single count and that it does not reset when starting a different educational activity.

Page 42: The Training Process>Apprenticeships

As with ED5, apprenticeships should add the sentences

"The process can be attempted once. It takes no time. Failure has no other effect."

Otherwise, repeated uses of apprenticeship seriously abuse the training process. One assumes that this is a time consuming activity over a significant amount of time in Life Stage 2.

Page 43: The Training Process>Mentoring

"The process takes 2 years..." should be changed to "The process takes 1 year..." to agree with the Education for Characters table on page 40.

Page 40: Available Skills Table

In the Education for Characters table on page 40, Medical School provides Medic-4 (no major or minor) and the code under College is "M".

In the Available Skills table on page 40, Forensics has the code "M" in the College column but since there is no major or minor in Medical School, Forensics cannot be taken.

Remove the "M" code in the College column next to Forensics.

Page 39: The Educational Process>Major and Minor

This paragraph states:
The character attending an Educational Institution must select a Major and a Minor...
However, the Educational Institutions table on the same page lists a variety of programs that do not have a major or minor (ED5, Law School, Medical School, OTC). Suggest re-wording of this first sentence to:
The character attending an Educational Institution with a Major or Minor must select these...

Page 40: Education for Characters Table

Medical School and Law School should award skills like other educational institutions, one level per pass. Surely, you learn something along the way. To clarify this, the following changes should be made in the Education for Characters Table on page 40:

For Medical School, in the "Provides:" column, change "Medic-4" to "Medic +1 per pass".

For Law School, in the "Provides:" column, change "Advocate-2" to "Advocate +1 per pass".

selling side (10%x(SourceTL - MarketTL)) so a 4 to 10 split 60% increase in price
 • the brackets are missing in the TL Effect formula on page 487 but the example underneath indicates that it is not ((10%xSourceTL)-MarketTL) but (10%x(sourceTL -marketTL)

page 487
rule: TL Effect = 10% x Source TL minus Market TL ________

example: Beowulf carries it to Alell B56789C-A Ri Pa Ph where it has price Cr7,800.
=Cr5,000 +[In> Ri =+1,000 =6,000] plus TL Effect (=13 -10 = 3 x10% x6,000 = +1,800 = Cr7,800).

suggestion: add brackets to show proper order of operations!

TL Effect = 10% x ( Source TL minus Market TL )

PEDMAS for the Win!

Page 59: Scout Risk & Reward > Sanity

SANITY
Because of the long-term isolation that a Scout must endure, reduce San= -1 for each TWO Terms served.
Since "long-term isolation" implies Explorer duty, this paragraph should be modified to read:
SANITY
Because of the long-term isolation that a Scout must endure, reduce San= -1 for each TWO Explorer Terms served.
Aside: Note that Hemdian's Scout Career flowchart only evaluates San during Explorer terms, which could result in incorrect calculation when intermingled with Courier terms.

Page 59: Scout Risk & Reward > Reward Success

Reward Success: The Scout discovers a valuable new world or a valuable feature on a known world (a Discovery), receives a Land Grant, and Fame +1.
According to the Fame definition on page 71, Scouts receive Fame +4 for each Discovery, therefore the above paragraph should end with "Fame +4."

Page 58: Citizen Skills & Knowledges

In this table, the knowledge in the 7th row, 1st column, is "Grav". Since several skills have a knowledge named Grav this is indeterminate. I would suggest Driver(Grav).
