I love the fact that the T5SS is expanding the base code to be multiple characters.
IMTU I've been doing so for a while for standard bases. I also have the option for a base code, in lowercase, which represents a Research Station. Current T5SS data files use a 3-character field in the Remarks segment, and if I recall correctly, the BBB doesn't discuss it at all.
For example, IMTU a base code of NSa indicates the presence of a Naval Base, Scout Base, and Research Station Alpha. A base code of p equates to Research Station Pi. I use the Greek symbol on my graphics screen, and locate it below the GG indicator.
For T5SS is anything like this being contemplated, or will the official ruling for research stations keep them in the Remarks field?
Hmmmm. Looking at TravellerMap and "Understanding the data formats" there is a LOT of new info for the Remarks field, including the Research Station indicator. Is the BBB going to get an errata update with this new chart?
It also appears that TravellerMap parses the remarks field, and if it detects a Research Station, plots one.
Anyway, thoughts and input appreciated.
