T5SS stellar data on TravellerMap

dalthor

SOC-12
Taking a look at raw sector data from the Traveller Map for the Marches and Deneb, and it seems that the vast majority of stars are now main sequence.

It would appear that all the dwarf stars were converted to main sequence.

Is that the case -- a straight conversion from dwarf to main sequence for the T5SS or am I just seeing things?

Another example, Deneb/Taman, hex 0237, this has nothing to do with a dwarf.

original .sec file
Taman 0237 E874300-4 Lo Ni 810 Dd M7 V M3 VI

current
0237 Taman E874300-5 Lo { -3 } (521-5) [1111] B - - 810 11 ImDd G7 V M3 V

There are a lot of other examples, including

Wroclaw 0226 C4667BF-7 Ag 823 Dd M8 V K2 VI

changing to G8 V K2 V

-----

Is this a display issue, a true change for T5SS, or something insidious being wrought by Grandfather?

Confused minds are trying to cope, and a sanity check would be appreciated!

<Edit: This may need to be moved to the IISS forum, which is where I originally meant to post it>

This is a true change.

There's an old errata list for the sec files...

1. Change all primary Ds to Vs.
2. Change all VIs to Vs.
3. Star types K5 to M9 are not available with star size IV: change star size to V.
4. Star types A, F and G are extremely rare with star sizes II and III: change star size to V.
5. Star types M4V through M9V cannot have habitable worlds: subtract 6 from the decimal classification.
6. If two or more stars in the same system are size D, change the last one to size V.
7. Unless the primary star is size II, III, or IV, change remaining companion size D stars to size V.

Now in some cases, we did much more than that. But that's what it started with. This list comes from the MegaTraveller and TNE sector data discussions.
