TA Authors

Paul,

After I submit Robots of Known Space, I'll be working on submitting the GenCon scenarios I ran to the Gateway Adventures supplement. But I might be able to help you with statblocks and ship designs, if you need it.

Hope this helps,
Flynn

Martin,

A quick update on TAx: Robots of Known Space for you. I am still creating robot design sequences (had an emergency at work that required overtime and cut into that process), but still hope to have it done by the end of this weekend. If not, it won't be very long thereafter before the first draft gets sent to you. Either way, you will receive it sometime next week, either on Monday or shortly thereafter.

I'll post here on Monday with an update (either it's been sent, or it'll be sent on Day X),
Flynn

Finished the last deckplan draft for TAx: Small Trading Ships and sent it off to Shane a few days ago. I'm going through now and polishing up all the deckplans.

TA?: Animal Encounters got a boost this weekend, 6 animals are now final, complete and done ... so we're on track for the Sept deadline, if I spend the rest of my free time editing nasty critters.

All Brook's plans are in, so the delays are now my fault... ;) I'm progressing slowly, but Theresa has been awake and upset a lot recently, so I'm so tired I end up having to rewrite half my stuff. I *will* finish soon...

Apologies to MJD and all...

Shane

Martin,

TAx: Robots of Known Space has now been sent to you. I spent about fifteen hours or so this weekend completing the design sequences, and making sure it all looked right.

As this is my first actual TA submission, I'm curious as to the rest of the process from this point forward. Here are my assumptions, please let me know if these are incorrect:

1) You review the submission and ask for some editting to be done. We work together to make sure I address all of your concerns, and submit a final draft for your approval.

2) It goes into the queue for publishing.

3) It gets art and goes to layout for PDF publishing first.

4) When the art is added and the layout work is completed, the TA is prepared for release via Quiklink's online store.

5) If the TA is well received, it goes through an update for errata, then art and layout for hardcopy publishing. Then it's sent on to the printer, and finally distributed through the normal channels.

Is that correct?

Thanks,
Flynn

TAx: In the clouds update: Got two designs completed, but only becuse I also needed to modify the rules for LTA craft and add more rules for using parachutes. (Love those HALO jumps).

Flynn: From my experience the steps outlines are correct, though I have not gotten to step 5 yet.

With the quality of your work, I don't think it'd be long before we see some of your work hit Step Five, good sir.

Thanks,
Flynn

TA?: Travellers & Citizens

First of all apologies to those who have been awaiting any progress on this project.

Haven't posted in a about a month or so. Real life (TM) issues and (at present) heavily restricted web access have prevented me from getting as much as I would like completed as well as updating you all as to my progress.

All characters / encounters are now complete and just need stating. Encounter / character primer sections complete. Still working on a balanced Citzen NPC class for use by Referee.

The bank holiday has given me a chance to get some time to get this work complete.

As an aside to those who are interested my review of MJD's "Standing Alone" novel is now in the bag and will be posted here on the CoTI boards within the next day or so.

Cheers,

Grahame

TA ?: Starfall Conspiracy
My apologies to all who've offered to help with this project. Right now, real life work and family issues are going to keep me away from the keyboard for the rest of the month. I'm looking forward to getting back to this project in September.

TA ?: Starfall Conspiracy - Part I
I just received from Liam Devlin the outline for Henri Chablis, one of the major NPCs in the adventure, and the only one grandfathered from the Starfall Cluster material. Many thanks, Liam! (bwa-ha-ha)

As a twist on the normal way of structuring Traveller adventures, Henri is one of several possible 'patrons' that the PCs will be able to associate themselves with. Each of the 'patrons' will have his or her own agenda (which the PCs probably won't immediately be aware of), and all of the 'patrons' interact to one extent or another. Part of the fun will be what happens when the PCs get involved.

The rest of the patrons are in the works. Once they're done, Act I will go out for review and playtest.

TA#X In the Clouds: I've gotten a few more vehicles completed. The Zeppelins and the Ornithopers are done. 23 vehicles to go.

Martin, I need to get a new deadline for TA?: Animal Encounters as the last rough one (end of Sept) has past and it's not yet ready.

In terms of work to do:
- Animals selected (check)
- MM stat blocks created (check)
- Stat blocks standardised for Traveller (check)
- Traveller-esque descriptions added (half-done)
- Encounter tables created (TBD)
- Traveller balance checked (TBD)
- Spell check (TBD)
- Grammar check (TBD)

I've got a fair bit to go as you can see, but some of it should not take too long (such as the encounter tables).

Anyway Martin, please drop me a line to discuss.

Thanks!

Look, It's my Once a Month Update.

TAx: In the Clouds. I've got almost all of the private/commercial planes done. 14 left to go, and still half the weekend...month to go.

Real life is very busy at the moment, but I do keep coming back to Specialist Ships of the Imperial Navy. Trying to work my way through the devising of new rules for a couple of things without upsetting the balance or everything else. Coming along slowly.

I've lost a lot of addresses in the last reinstallation. Anyone wanting contact from me, please mail bme direct.

Gentlemen,

It looks like the outline has been approved for TAx: Robot Adventures. Yay!

This next week, I'll expand on the basic outline I'd submitted, create a core document into which to add the text and begin to create the patron encounters.

It's good to be back,
Flynn

TA ?: Starfall Conspiracy

Having recently resolved a couple of the personal issues that were hanging over my head and sapping all of my spare time, I have once again picked up my prodigal project and am now continuing into Acts II and III.

More as it develops,

Gentlemen,

Time for this week's update on TAx: Robot Adventures:

</font>
  • Created core document and templated the encounters to be delivered.</font>
  • Written introductory text.</font>
  • Fully developed four patron encounters.</font>
  • Words to date: 6,457</font>
This next week, I'll continue to develop the patron encounters, aiming to complete all sixteen within the next two weeks.
After that, it's on to the mercenary tickets, the amber zones, the NPC encounters, and then some additional robot designs.

When I'm done with what I'd originally outlined, there's the chance the document will be too large. At that point, I will have to go through and edit it down to an acceptable size, of course.

So far, so good,
Flynn
