Gah! Sorry mate, that'll be Small *Trading* Ships he has done the deckplans for. Sorry, I was very tired when I posted that. Silly Shane...

NO worries. man. But you did confuse me for a moment, 'cuz I though I was doing the deckplans. Along with 2320AD, which might help to explain why Small Scouts is taking awhile.

  • Travellers & Citizens</font>
  • Small Trading Ships</font>
  • Specialized Ships of the Navy</font>
  • Small Scout Ships</font>

Looking forward to buying them as they become available.

Thanks in advance,
Flynn
I have a rough version of Travellers & Citizens completed but due to personal problems have been unable to spend any further time working on it and polishing it up to a level that I would be happy with submitting.

I'm hoping that circumstances will allow me to return to this project sometime in the new year, though if someone would like to take what I have done so far and would be willing to co author the TA in an effort to get it finished/published I would be more than happy to hear from them...

Anyone know anything about the rest of these?

  • Starfall Conspiracy (now a Traveller Epic)</font>
  • 76 Aliens</font>
  • 76 More Aliens</font>
  • Travellers & Citizens</font>
  • Small Trading Ships</font>
  • Defensive & Survival Equipment</font>
Thanks in advance,

StarFall (now Traveller Epic) is behind the Gateway & 1248 New Era projects for publication/release, Flynn, according to sources within the Tower of T20 evil! Due to reasons of health, Real World issues with a printing Company (who shall not be named, grr) etc, Mssr Hunter & co. have allotted Starfall behind these two.
rest assured, it is written, and by now, edited. Art content had yet to be added the last I spoke with my sources. Of course, that was before I went to Ft Hood Texas in October(29th) of this year.

...heretically yours, :D

I think you are confusing the Starfall Conspiracy adventure (Paul Nemeth's work) that Flynn asked about with the Starfall Cluster Book that is already done.

And, AFAIK Starfall Conspiracy is a-progressing, but life stuff slowed Paul down.

Shane

OT: Was a bit late (Edinburgh traffic, gah!) trying to call you today Dan and got no answer. Will try again later / on the morrow.

Thanks, Liam.

I've heard from a number of the authors, and now am trying to track down what happened to these remaining TAs:

</font>
  • 76 Aliens</font>
  • 76 More Aliens</font>
  • Small Trading Ships</font>
  • Defensive & Survival Equipment</font>
Just want the authors to know that these are still projects that I'm excited about and want to see them succeed. Even if a project is partially done and has stalled, I assume it's still possible to find a volunteer to help someone finish it off, if the original author is cool with that. (Some are, and some aren't; it's good, either way.)

I just know that there's been a lot of heart and soul put into starting these projects, and I for one just hate to see good work and good concepts stop because of Real Life (tm) issues. :(

I hope I haven't spoken inappropriately.

With Regards,
Flynn

Small Trading Ships is moving ahead slowly. I had many. many hours of overtime this last couple of months as my partner on graves, and other folks at work, have been taking vacation that they had to use or lose by the end of the year. Things have settled back down and Julia and I should make better progress hereafter.

I've set us a goal to have this finished by the end of January at latest.

Thanks -- Brook

Good morning, All,

I've made some more progress on TAx: Robot Adventures and, with next week off from work, hope to stay on target for turning the draft over to MJD by the end of the first weekend of January. Here's what I've got to report this week:

</font>
  • Completed all but one patron encounter.</font>
  • Completed all robot designs referenced in the patron encounters. Need two more warbots for the mercenary tickets.</font>
  • Words to date: 15,342</font>
At a projected thousand words a day, I should have the TA completely written in time to meet my deadline.

What remains?
</font>
  • Four mercenary tickets</font>
  • Two amber zones</font>
  • Two NPC encounters</font>
  • Two warbot design sequences</font>
Happy Holidays,
Flynn

Way to go that man! You, along with all other TA authors, past and future, deserve a big round of thanks from all of us that get to benefit from all the hard work.

Wishing you every success with staying on target.

A question for you Flynn, if I may.
Will the Robot Adventures TA include expanded rules for robot construction?
Also, will sufficiently advanced AIs get a Wis stat to make them into true lifeforms?

TA #9, Robots of Charted Space (due out within the next few months, as I understand it) contains information on playing robots (both AI and non-AI) as PCs. It does address the question you've posed, and leaves that up to the Referee to implement as they see fit. (My goal with that section of Robots of Charted Space was to provide Referees with choices, and empower them to make the decisions.)

Robots of Charted Space does expand a little on the robot design sequences, adding some hardware, software and various makes and models of robot computer brains, in addition to something like thirty-one different robot design sequences. As it was my first TA, I didn't want to get too radical with it.

Robots Adventures is a sister volume to Robots of Charted Space. It provides a number of adventure scenarios and suggestions that directly or indirectly involve robots, and includes, among other things, several new robot designs. However, it does not offer any additional rules regarding robot construction.

Once Robots Adventures is complete, I've already submitted a Traveller Epic proposal of a political nature that I'm waiting for approval from MJD (I was given the informal approval during the initial pitch, but haven't heard any thoughts on the outline I sent him). In addition, I'll be working with Grahame this next month to help him get the Travellers & Citizens draft complete and to the editors. (He's really close to being done as it is, but Real Life stuff has been an issue. I'm just helping out a bit.
)

Unless there's a big demand for it, though, I doubt I'll provide any expanded robot construction rules, unless my gaming group convinces me to put together a Cybernetics and Medical Technology proposal, and I can sneak them in there.

(Or if Martin says something akin to "Can you do a 'Robots of X' supplement for us?")

Hope this helps answer your questions,
Flynn

BTW, after the TE, I will probably submit a proposal for the Rimward States Sourcebook for TNE 1248, unless someone beats me to it, or Martin tells me he'd rather get more adventures for now.

Wow, that's a lot of hard work Flynn, thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to their publication
.
The Cybernetics and Medical Technology proposal would get my vote to go ahead.

Thanks, Sigg. Here's one of my favorite quotes:

"When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy,
care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life." -Jean Shinoda Bolen

I'm having a great time writing and contributing to Our Old Game, and so long as I am, I'll continue to make room for it.

Enjoy,
Flynn

....
Thanks for clarifying, Shane.

I'm still trying to understand the status of Starfall . To the best of my knowledge, it's on hold until after Gateway and 1248, which puts it well down the production stream.

Obviously, Conspiracy won't be released before all of the above are out, so it will be well down the list. Given the life challenges that Shane has referred to, and my desire to write the highest quality product, I've adopted a go-slow approach to writing Conspiracy.

Furthermore, since I've been told to "reclassify" Conspiracy as an Epic rather than a TA, I won't post any more updates about it here. For now, the new "Epics" don't have a newsy sort of spot to post, so I'll use the Lone Star. If MJD, Hunter or any of the Peers have any other suggestions, let me know.

As an update, I have made little progress on TAx: Robot Adventures, as I am working on another short-term project for Martin at this time. I hope to have that completed by this coming weekend, and will get back to TAx: Robot Adventures immediately thereafter.

With Regards,
Flynn

Good afternoon, All,

Progress on TAx: Robot Adventures is still slow, but it's nearing completion, now that the short-term project mentioned earlier is complete. Here's what I've got to report this week:

</font>
  • Fully developed two mercenary tickets.</font>
  • Completed design sequences for two new warbots.</font>
  • Words to date: ~17,000 (I don't remember the exact numbers, as the most recent draft is at home.)</font>
I need to finish the remaining two mercenary tickets and two amber zones, and we're done.

Keep On Travellin',
Flynn

And I've gotten a few more designs for TAx: In the Clouds, now have 8 designs left to do, and finish the data cards.
