On a personal level, Felix is an easygoing guy. He looks for the fun in anything, but still puts his responsibilities first. Responsibilities, which he takes very seriously. Too seriously, some would say. As a marine, and later as a solo-belter, he developed a level of aggressiveness that he uses to feel out those around him and keep others off balance.
Felix enjoys being in company but, by really looking at him, you can see that even when he’s in a crowd, he is still alone. Occasionally, he’ll be caught, his mind drifting off to somewhere, his hand clasped around an ancient Celtic cross, which he is always wearing around his neck.

He was born into a family/community of travelling belters. Gypsies, moving from place to place, looking for that next big strike. It was lucrative and fulfilling. It ended one day while he was on a supply run. The entire clan was wiped out by Zhodani border raiders. Felix joined the Imperial Marines for payback. He was assigned to a black op group of border raiders himself and was able to do unto the Zho’s what was done to him.

After tiring of the bloodshed, he was able to muster out and return to what he knew best. Belting. He ran his own ship and worked solo for 8 years. This can have a negative affect on one’s psyche. After a nasty crash, he lost everything, including the remainder of his sanity. Post accident the doctor (and a wonderful nurse) brought him back to health. It was recommended that he get a job that placed him around lots of people. The doctor had a lead.
The job he followed up on seemed fine. Working aboard a heavy merchant. But before he knew what hit him, he was re-enlisted in the marines, given a commission and made Weapons Officer/CO Ships Troops aboard an Imperial Q-Ship. Keeping this crew alive became the main part of the job. Unfortunately, it was the captain who kept trying to get them all killed. He was one of those spoiled nobles trying to make a name for himself outside of his family, no matter who was hurt. If Felix had a cred for everytime…

After a few run-ins with an overzealous cop, the captain and his pet D’Kelvas, a race of arrogant bullies with the maturity level of an adolescent public school-educated human, Felix was reassigned out of the crew to a training post. Not one of the people he had protected and served with, those he began to call friend, stepped forward to defend him, take his side or even speak out against the decision to remove him. Hurt and once again, alone, he took his belongings and left. Not wishing to play nurse maid to a bunch of colonials who wished they could be Marines, Felix resigned his commission and faded into the ‘verse to find adventure and a purpose.

Welcome to the Island of Misfit Toys, Lt. Markov!

And here I thought I was the only one who disliked the "25th Level Teens From Planet Elfquest" I say 25th Level because During the Mutiny in Episode 6, that creature killed (Killed!) 4 men with one attack on each... with a Sword!! Poppycock, says I! And then there was the "eye" incident

The Captain is another story... and I agree fully with your assessment, which shows great insight, what? I find it hard to believe that any rational member of the Moot or High Government would condone let alone sponsor such a "mission". Rhylanor must be a hotbed for intrigue! (not.)

Welcome, Old Comrade!

Need a Lift? I need a Gunner, what?

Ah, good Baron. Please, just call me Felix. I have since left the service and am once again a humble traveller of this 'verse. But, I would enjoy taking the gig as your gunner. Sounds like a hoot. I just have to make proper arrangements for the care of one invitro child, and I'm free to roam.

As to my fun times on Rylanor, I don't know about intrigue, but I can tell you the place sure is lacking in loyalty.

Smoke me a kipper, I'll be home for breakfast!

Well, Sir Felix, since we will indeed be spending extended periods in jump for a while, please call me "Saar", what?

As it stands, I have recieved black news from home. My father, The Marquis Sidur Haski, has unexpectedly died of a severe respiratory ailment. I must take the Axis all the way to Gushemege from the Marches. Quite a jaunt, what?

I have been given an advance on my inheiratance from my mother, who now controls the system as regent, until such a time my older brother can assume the reigns. He currently serves as a Captain in the Imperial Navy in the Core sector, and has recieved dispensation from the Moot to return home and Retire, well, to Retire to be a Marquis!

As far as Terms of Employment, if you can call it that, I can pay Cr5000 a month for the position of Gunner and Generalized Crew. The Axis is very automated, so there is little to do overall. I can of course provide a stateroom of extremely luxurious character and double size for your use.

You may also have access to the Axis' extensive Library and Galley for entertainment and relaxation (which I enjoy often, what?)

Free use of the Speeder if you need it.

You can pretty much do what you will, as long as you jump to that gunner station when or if we come under attack enroute.

I usually overbuy life support, we could even perhaps take aboard wandering damsels in distress, as fate provides, as long as we manage to keep up appearances and discretion in public, and as long as they aren't too hard on the nerves...

I shall have a Overall Jump Plan by week's end, and if you need to be let off along the way, then that can be worked out... you can terminate your post with no questions.

Deal?

My Good Baron Saarthuran, I...

Sorry. Saar, your offer is one I would call to good to pass up. While I am rated on ships weapons, I do possess many other skills which I will gladly offer to you and the Axis. Sounds like you have the makings of an adventure on your hands. I would consider it an honor to tag along for a wee bit.

My last one was 'Kejel Perez', a Solomani War photographer (MT-rebellion/hard times). He NEVER carried a weapon, just a camera and a press-pass and survived for many games as NPC's 'mostly' ignored him as a non-combatant(he was good at running!). Then disaster struck. Our regular referee went on holiday to Denmark and a new player took over as ref. He had a reputation of playing Cyberpunk JUST for the weaponry. By the end of the next game he was dead....and all I got from the new referee was 'serves yourself right for not carrying a gun'. Bummer!

Savage's History
Served as gunner on the 10kt cruiser Guiles, Engineer on the 800t merc. cruiser Longblade, and Pilot of the 600t courier Dartysmyth.
John was born on the agrarian world of Skional to Merchant Marine Captain David Savage and Engineer Anne Baxton.
Commander John Savaged served 4 terms in the Navy and mustered out on Drexel (a Lebanon like divided world). There he met and married billionaire Jackie Brown.
Adventures:
- recovered lost 400t merchant
- defended 5000t liner from Pirates in the system of Epilose VIII. Awarded audience with King & Queen, a letter of intro, and command of a 300t pirate hunting close escort,
- destroyed 2 pirate bases and 1 400t pirate ship. Damaged and faught off a 2nd 400t ship commanded by the feared pirate Broderick. A missjump required a long trip back to Agrarian space lowering crew morale.
- Deadsticked the Griffin into landing on the forward starport at Albion. A paranoid admiral shipped Savage, crew and ship back to Epilose for courtmarshal after calling out a planet wide war alert for what must have been terrorists.
- While being tried on a 1440t cascade class cruiser Broderick attacks the squad destroyer and 800t merc cruiser and damaging the cruiser. Savage boards the Griffon attempting to fight Broderick per the Cascade's commander order. Broderick jumps Savage missjumps in an attempt to follow him.
-Deep in enemy territory, Industrial Union of the Stars, the Griffin tricks and destroys 20 zdits and 2 sub merchants.
-Upon returning to Epsilon they discover that war broke out before after they left Albion. Albion had been overrun.
- Captain Savage has been given command of the 3000t Starlowe cruiser & escorts. Their first attack captures a 1 million ton repair facility and a 10k cruiser.
- As Fleet Captain Savage and team assemble a suicide mission with the 14th Vengeance fleet for an assault on the enemy homeworld. Savage and team return with heavy losses.
- John and Jackie are injured in a ship's boat accident. Jackie seperates in an effort to recover. John continues to fighting after the assassination of Epsilons' admiral. Savage takes command of the 125,000t Battleship Royal Sovereign.
- Commodore Savage with 37 capital ships and 300 escorts in the 14th Vengenace Fleet and PC Grand Admiral Zues lead the Battle of Pelcrest in an effort to destroy IUS's largest fleet. Although highly sucessful as rebel units (influenced by PCs and Jackie) start to overthrow Pelcrest, heavy losses begin a war of attrition. The enemy launch blockades against several Agrarian worlds while nuking Epsilon. The king is killed in initial attacks, the capital and naval academy destroyed.
- Savage returns to his base at Drexel to fight off a significant invasion force.
- The majority of fleets are tied up in a battle for Pelcrest. Savage is killed as the IUS attempts but fails to destroy the planet. Royal Sovereign is severely damaged. Quitely Zues returns Savage to Drexel where he is cloned and returns to command the 14th VF for the remainder of the war.
- The IUS sues for peace as their war effort has nearly backrupted their economy. Her Royal Highness Merclear accepts the conditions for peace.
- Savage clone begins rebuilding of the Royal Academy. Jackie never accepts Savage "clone" as her husband and continues her efforts on Pelcrest.

The environment was similar to British Commonwealth and the Soviet Union going to war while the US sits it out. After a decade of play with 3 characters there were many stories I've left out or abreviated. ;)

Ok. Here’s one of my fave characters. :D She was done up for TNE.

Name: Karri Eischer. Gender: Female (human)
Age: 26. Tac-Code: Harry
UPP: Str: 6. Agl: A. Int: 8. Edu: 6. Chr: A. Soc: 4. (we didn’t use Psi)
Init: 4. Rank: Sublieutenant (O1)
Skills & Attr.
STR: Martial Arts (unarmed) – 4. Slug Pistol – 2. Slug Rifle – 3.
AGL: Pilot (Int/Grav) – 5. Fellatio – 5 (see below).
CON: Envriron Suit – 2. Swimming – 1.
INT: Streetwise – 4. Observation – 2. Willpower – 3.
EDU: Poetry – 1. Astrogation – 4. Ships Engineering – 2. Comms – 1.
CHR: Act/Bluff – 2. Carousing – 4. Bargaining – 1. Persuasion – 2.

Harry was born in the slums of Trybec, and grew up somewhat rough. She’s crass, blunt, sarcastic and very ‘to the point’. She doesn’t suffer fools at all, and tends to let them know it in no uncertain terms.
file_28.gif
Harry is the sort of person that calls a ‘spade’ a ‘bloody shovel!’
. She grew up in a gang, and got involved in drugs, prostitution (now the fellatio skill makes sense, eh?), crime….basically, you name it, she was into it.

Now, I hear you ask, ‘how did someone like this receive a commission? In fact, how the heck did they even get onto a starship????? Well, despite her ‘in your face’ attitude, Harry tends to get away with pretty much everything. This is for two main reasons. One, she is absolutely stunning! Two, she has an absolute heart of gold. She grew up in an atmosphere where the only thing that she could rely on was her mates (errr…. Buddies to all you non-Aussies
), and so has developed an intense sense of loyalty. It takes a while to earn her trust, but once you’ve got it, she’d crawl over broken glass for you.

Over time, Harry built up a regular clientele for the special ‘services’ she offered. One of those clients was one of our other PC’s – a very highly respected scientist who went by the name of “Pompo”. Pompo rationalised everything, and could not see the logic in a romantic relationship. Therefore, he used the services of Harry for his… errr….well… you get the picture anyway. Anyway, they developed quite a friendship, and Pompo began to realise that this kid was actually quite bright. So, he being quite high up in the RC (he is, in our game, an expert on the Virus), he pulled a few strings, and greased a few palms to get Harry to an interview for the RCES. (not to mention Harry’s brilliant performance on the casting couch). So, Harry was sent to OCS.

At OCS, Harry earned the respect of her classmates by being first to volunteer for anything - especially involving danger. She also came to their aid in a couple of bar fights against "Dirt-hugging Pongo’s" (her affectionate name for the RC Army). In fact, so much does she tend to rush in where angels fear to tread that she got the tac-code “Harry” (Harry-Karri).

After Graduation at OCS, Harry was posted to the RCESS OPTIMA (our modified fat trader – lovingly referred to by the ships company as the ‘Optima neck-in-it’). She was a real hit with the other crewmembers, and they’ve all pretty much adopted her as a kid sister (she is the youngest on the vessel by a good 9 years).

So, there you have it, folks. Harry Karri, in all her glory.

It finally turned out (because we thought it'd be fun) that the real reason Galloway had survived his flight down the cruiser's meson gun was that he had a submerged alternate personality named "George." George was very paranoid and convinced that everything in the universe was trying to kill him. However, George also doubled all David's skills (Pilot-8, anyone?). George was why David was discharged/retired from the Navy. In David's last battle his command Patrol Corvette was hit on the bridge by a pirate laser. George took over David, then took over the controls and single-handedly destroyed all the pirates and then began to attack the remaining Solomani ships. The survivors of the command ship's crew eventually overpowered George, but Navy medics forced Galloway into retirement.

We had George pop up a time or two while Galloway adventured and eventually David looked for and found a Psionic Institute that could help him learn how to control George.

I have it on strong authority (Calvin's Dad from Calvin and Hobbes comic strip by Bill Waterson) that in the old days they had colour TVs but that the *world itself* was only Black and White. I can't dispute such an authority figure.....
