Telstar went up 50 years ago today.

Where has the time gone?

Who else remembers a little extra thrill when watching TV with the little "By Satellite" (or "Via Satellite", depending on what that network thought of the viewers' intelligence level) text tag in the corner?

I remember that song...

it sounded more like Sputnik to me.
