Mick:
It's funny, when I watched the video night before last, I got that impression...it got me thinking...my original idea was a 5000-tonner with about 500-tons to passenger/crew spaces. Keeping the already posted spaces and increasesing tonnag back up to 5000-tons, what do you think about attaching the above 'gondola' to the underside of the main-hull (about 4600-tons). The old girl could remain a TL 13 design in most design systems, but for LBB2, TL15...which kind of places it out of the realm of my imagined universe....but could look really cool!
and yes, Randy...I know....I almost added in <ducks head> when I typed that
However, was the easiest analouge I could think of. As for the windows...I always use the Starship Operator's Manual for a lot of my interior details, so I would assume the 'window's would be able to opaque themselves, turn themselves into a holo-screen, etc...
Looking again at the sketch, I am wondering if I might not like the idea of the Lounge being located on the deck above the dining room...both in the circular area, with a staircase leading down from the lounge into the dining room....historically pretty acurate for a CGT ship...all of the liners of the French Line had a 'grande descent' into the dining room.
And I am not so sure about charging less for an interior room...I mean, having the real window might be nice, but the holoscreens in the room are pretty realistic....plus, it's not like you can open the window for a breeze! However, I would assume that the 4 12-ton suites would always be located on the exterior of the hull.
