Une grande Merci Beaucoup to everyone for their feedback!
It's getting pretty fun, using Sketchup for this design - but the turrets are so complex and detailed that they alone delay the refresh rate appreciably!
Thanks Marvo and Crow! stofsk: it's not hard, if you love to learn! I find having a task of love like this to 'cut your teeth on' is the perfect way for me to tackle the daunting task of learning a whole new program. I'm still not 'savvy' with the program, but I think I have a sense for most of its' capabilities - if not yet a talent for executing them!
And by the way, enjoy this newest animation - it's got an 'inner hull' skin, and is using the 'shadows' and 'x-ray' capabilities of Sketchup to show you what's inside while showing you what's outside!
Note that I had to remove the previous animation to make room for this bad li'l film!
Good work Mickazoid. If you ever want to convert some sketched up deckplans into another 3D project, I have, by pure coincidence, a particular set of them. I mention them completely coincidentally, having no ulterior motives whatsoever. Really.
