I was reading through the Traveller Adventure this morning and doing the numbers on the March Harrier for a new game and I came across something I don't understand.
Under Ship Payment on page 130, it says that the Fat Trader is subsidised and 50% of its Gross Income (my italics) must be paid to the subsidy agent. It then goes on to say that the subsidy is Cr 211,000 per trip.
Further down, it says that assuming a full ship, the Harrier can make Cr 289,000 per trip (8 high passengers, 9 low passengers and 200 tons of cargo). 50% of the revenue is Cr 144,500.
So my question is are revenue and gross income different, or did someone miscalculate when the Traveller Adventure was first written? What am I missing here?
I've had this adventure 25 years and run it four times. I can't believe I didn't notice this before.
