We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
I want to make some paper props for my Traveller game. How would you generate the "futuristic" mini-barcodes at the bottoms of most of the forms? Is there a font I can use for it?
Looks like the bar code with the funny symbols I was looking for are a machine-readable MICR font, specifically MICR E-13B. I'm still seeing if there's a free full font available online for it.
The bar code with the tall and short lines is Postal Bar Codes, which you can download here.
Found one! If you go to http://www.digitalgraphiclabs.com/default.html and select "Services" you'll see a list of them; under "Typeface Design" select "more information." You'll come to a page with a download link (I don't directly link since that would be rude of me), where you can get a number of free fonts. One of them is a MICR Encoding font which has the four MICR symbols.
It would be cool to find a bunch of MICR-like symbols in a font, so as to make more interesting codes.
