Traveller Languages

I give up. Maybe I dreamed it or saw it in a post. I thought it was in the THB only I can't find it now. Does anybody know if there is a T20 table of the languages and the alphabets they use?

Kind of sort of. Many of the languages have been in previous versions of Traveller, best I can suggest on short notice would be typing in the name of a race or language on a web browser search, and seeing if an alphabet comes up. Vilani for instance should get a few hits, Trokh (the Aslan tongue, or to be more specific, the Aslan male tongue) probably will, and so forth. I'm sure people can give some specific links, but I've seen plenty of name and word generators on the web, even seen one or two places where one could download things like a font based on the Vilani alphabet for use with Windows based applications.

Wish I could help more....I'm going to type in "Luriani" just to see what if any hits I get myself now.

Sorry to do this in two posts, but I remember that Gurps Traveller Alien Module 2 had copies of both the male and female dialects of the Aslan tongue, both a fairly large set of pregenerated words and examples of their script/alphabet.

Here's a URL I found on a Vargr dialect that is apparently similar to Irilitok, the Vargr dialect spoken by the majority of Vargr in the Gateway Domain: http://www.mu.org/~joe/traveller/archive/General/VUAKEDH_primer.txt

It's technically for a dialect found more in the domain of Antares then in the domain of Gateway, but it at least will give you a start, and will be different from let's say Gvengh, the dialect found among Vargr from in and around the Spinward Marches.

I want to say that GURPS Traveller Alien Module 4, which has the Bwapp in it had a word generator for their tongue, but I don't remember for certain. Maybe I'm thinking of the Bwapp entry in a T4 suppliment, Alien Archive, or maybe I'm making up seeing such in my head. Must confess to a lack of sleep right now.

Anyway, I'll stop my rambling now, before this gets too long and absurd. NOW I'm trying Luriani, if I do find something, I promise to do an edit to one of my posts, not add a third.

My thanks
Perhaps your madness is catching, I can picture it almost clearly enough to transcribe, but not quite

A nice small table, the many languages of the Imperium listed with the actual alphabets used for each  Perhaps if I dream it again I can pay more attention and type it up for all. Either that or I'll do some searching of my collected Traveller books and bookmarks, a little googling and post it here somewhere, if I can find the time...
