TravellerCon U.S.A. 2017

I see that the Kickstarter campaign for TravellerCon U.S.A. 2017 is up. I just pledged to a ticket for the whole weekend. As someone that came into Traveller with Mongoose Traveller 2E, it will be my first TravellerCon U.S.A. I look forward to it.

Glad to hear that

I've been going since 2010. You will have a lot of fun.

I'll be refereeing the next installment of my campaign and playing as well.

Look forward to seeing you.

Last year I believe 20-30 attended.

At least 30, yeah. I usually do a quick count at peak hours (and also note how many are old white dudes, which is usually about 90% of us).

6-8 tables x 4-6 people.

Right now, the registration Kickstarter already has 60+ backers, but I don't know if they're all attendees. I can peek at the backer levels later.

I'd have to work it with the Misses before i do either..like the backing or attendance. Yet it seems like some fun can be had there. :coffeesip:

Most seemed to be mid- to late-40s or older. I'm 48 in June.

The demographics seemed to match the various age polls we have fairly closely.

Just bumping this to remind people that TravellerCon USA is two months out and they need more refs! You can check out the convention info here.

Marc Miller will be attending. He's running two different kinds of events himself. The first is his "Can You Survive Character Generation," which includes "discussion time." The second is a two-hour lecture (the first hour is him talking and answering the questions you send in advance; the second hour is Q&A / "sign my stuff"). He's running each of those events twice at the con.

It's a small, intimate con, so if you want to hang with Marc and talk, this is your chance.

I'll be running one old adventure and one new adventure, both set in my Independence 2776 ATU (based loosely on the American Revolutionary War -- in spaaaaace). The old one is my adaptation of Henry Knox and the cannons, but the characters include a Lafayette analog, a recently-emancipated android, and a native-sophont scout/guide. The new one focuses on a system patrol cruiser that is near mutiny, and its tests of loyalty and patriotism. (Both vaguely Mongoose 1e.)

If I can find time and get Megan & Keith's blessing, I might write some kind of thing that can be finished in two hours, to fill the back half of the four hour slots that Marc is leaving open. That way, people can go do Marc's thing, then jump into my game for the other two hours.

I also have some vague ideas about a new adventure set in my Main Sequence ATU (the cyberpunk-space one I've started developing). Maybe that will make an appearance there. (Probably modified Cepheus Engine.)

I hope to see you there!
