what was the motivation/genesis behind the 993/Gateway setting? A fresh start? How did it come to be?
Don't know the behind the scenes stuff but it's 4 *sectors* with the Imperium holding about 1/4 at most of that. Plenty of room for a whole range of adventures there. Set again the backdrop of the Rim War to boot.

It reminds me a lot of the Periphery stuff in Battletech in a good way. Co-gming a t20 online game set in the Gateway Domain and it's been quite fun.

Cool. Let everyone know. I am starting to think it might end up being the best supported milleu that can still be somewhat canon.

You guys play in person or online?
In person. First session on Sunday 18. If I keep adequate notes there might even be a write up :)

Well each vehicle/starship gets an illustration. This is a plus for me. And being in pdf I can if needed copy out just the picture easliy and print it / display it on a monitor.
That makes me want it right there. I love a sourcebook with good pictures and the one on grav/air vehicle is the one that really jumps out at me.

I think I can get by on the personal weapons if I could find a good picture of a snub autopistol.
Besides those silly character better not get into that many firefights.

Well most of the stuff is statless but there is a thread on CotI about adding t20 to the BITS task system so you could change any t20 DCs to CT / MT task levels.

About 3-5 (depending on how high you like CT levels) T20 ranks (note this is ranks not final skill bonus with mods) equal a +1 in CT.

Abilities range up to 18 in T20, 12 in CT so take 12/18 x the T20 stats.

I figure this could be the best supported milleu available considering I don't go for the GURPS system at all.

Plus there is a bonus in being able to get pdfs at only $5 a pop.

Might bring back the whole idea of adventure/modules as opposed to everything having to be tied down to a huge campaign sourcebook.

Yeah - more modules in old pocket money ad&d or Double Adventure sized style - thats what we want - soon!
It would be really cool if it could be done old-school style where the adventures could fit together into a campaign. Remember for higher level players how you could play Against the Giants by itself or fit it into Against the Drows and end up going after the big spider Queen herself?

Lots of little pieces that you can buy for $5 but are flexible enough to fit together as a larger campaign. That is cool stuff.

Has anyone ever read a review on any of the rpgrealms adventures. The Odyssey was pretty good how are the others?

So, far I have on my upcoming buy list:

JTAS 13-24 reprint

Classic Adventures reprint

Personal Weapons TA #1 (print version)

Against Gravity TA #6

No particular order here in terms of what I buy when. In fact, I may get Against Gravity sooner than anything since I just bought JTAS 1-12.
