Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
I had done some looking in that direction, but doesn't look like I took notes (I think I was looking for worlds in Five Sisters or District 268.
It would be nice to have an index of JTAS that included sector/sub-sector/world for all placed adventures combined with the list of unplaced adventures.
If you go to any magazine issue or product in the RPGGeek database and look under the Geeklists section, you will find a link to the entry in these lists, if any world was mentioned in that product.
I compiled a list of 25 un-located worlds with UWPs culled from the Amber Zone scenarios in Issues 1 - 24 of JTAS and Issues 25-32 of Challenge, plus the Mercenary Ticket section of 76 Patrons. A pdf of the list at Box.net is below:
The main listing of un-located systems is here, but it does not indicate which worlds have UWPs and I have not checked every scenario/supplement available. The list itself is also incomplete as some publishers (Notably Gamelords) are not represented.
Just a quick note. I have updated my database of 'Orphaned' systems to include some that appeared in Space Gamer Magazine, these are all clearly marked and can be ignored.
Well its a case of checking article listings (if they exist) and then hunting down the magazines to check the scenarios themselves. I found one more in Space Gamer which was by Marcus Rowland (Who wrote articles for just about everyone back then.) before getting back to the four Keith Brothers scenarios that were set in Reavers Deep.
This pdf version contains all the worlds with UWPs I have found so far. But only the database version has the notes I derived from the scenarios.
Any further updated pdfs will be to this version of the file. The original PDF version which contains only the GDW published worlds is being kept intact.
Edit: Just finished a discussion with someone I knew who had a complete print run of the pre-Warhammer issues of White Dwarf, and it looks as if the scenarios they wrote were either set in the Spinward Marches or were written in a manner similar to that used in the Lee's Guide book (eg UWP ranges.) so that they could be used anywhere.
A related thing that just struck me, aside from Gary Pilkingtons Precipice and John M. Fords Pesek(Of which as far as I can tell only one world was shown of it.) are there any other 'Orphan' subsectors (eg not tied to a specific sector.) in published materials from the late 1970s and early to mid 1980s
