Underpowered aliens?

Good Point Marvo, but bear in mind also that Aslan also can go 13 terms in their lifespan in chargen prior history! They can accumulate far more experience with their lifespan than humans, or a Vargr.

Aslan do 1d6 in melee damage with their claws, Vargr 1d4. This is a direct reflection of strength/ mass. You could, if you chose, use 1d8 or 2d4 instead, to reflect twice the damage a Vargr does in melee.

Aslan are bigger, and stronger on average--only the Urzaeng-breed came close to Aslan approximations thanks to the 'Ancients', iirc.

Liam, your right about the longer life span being an advantage. In some ways this is better than the +1 skill per level that humans have.

I would not change the base melee damage because the damage bonus goes up with strength anyhow. At an 18 it's +4 so that is bonus enough for me. I like the idea of the Aslan just being stronger all round rather than just for combat. i.e. they can force open doors, carry wounded companions etc. For me a tough Aslan male combat troop should have a Str of 18-24. That is, stronger than any human could ever be.

Well Marvo with the ability score raises, say your 18STR +2 (=20 STR +5 melee damage) Aslan male before he hits aging spends his 1pt ability raise there by 12th level he's at 23 +6 dmage--and with two swipes, 1d6+6 (2-12) Stamina damage..lethal.

Yes, that's kind of along the lines I was thinking. Okay, maybe 20 should be the upper limit.
Mind you, this is the extreme example top notch Aslan combat troop. The way I see it, in a 1 on 1 Aslan marine 'v' human marine the human is going to get his ass (and other bodily parts) handed to him on a dew claw.

Oh and those bursts of speed up to 18m a 6-second melee round? Being able to take rest break after 32 hrs non-stop being up & awake? Did I forget those advantages too?

And--Thats why we poor flat faces have long-distance weapons, Marvo, like ortillery, self-propelled guns, mortars, and a decent sniper team with a rifle made for the job.
