The voting period is hereby declared over. Even if there is something lost in the mail or misfiled, the result is clear.
The WINNER is
Entry 2 by Scott G. White (4 votes).
The SECOND PLACE is
Entry 1 by Bill Prankard (1 vote).
The JOINT THIRD PLACE are
Entry 3 by Leslie Degroff and Entry 4 by Mike West.
Congratulations! And now that the results are in, a few comments by me:
* I was a bit disappointed that there was so little debate on the entries. There was a time when the board denizens would compare how capable the ships were or how closely they matched the specs.
* I really liked the background story tie-in from Entry 3.
It might have gotten my vote if I had voted.
* And finally, I was surprised that nobody wrote a really heavy cruiser. We know from Sword Worlds that the SW have 500,000-dton battleships (the current Ormen hin Lange). A 50,000-dton to 75,000-dton GTL13 cruiser would be just the thing to deal with them, and to make even a Tigress think twice about a fight ...
