What If...Star Wars

When I used the ewoks in a long dead campaign my players not only used the ship's laser turrets to cut the trees off at ground level...

They sold ewok fur coats and erotic underwear.

I have never used cute furry aliens again...miss jumping Kzinti pirates are quite a different kettle of fish.

1. What if Obi Wan killed Anakin outright in Eps. III?
2. What if the Empire won at Endor?
3. What if Luke accepted his father's offer to defeat the Empire in ESB?
4. What if Darth Maul was not dead (ie. not sliced in two but pushed into the abyss)?
5. What if Luke joined the side of the Imperials in the events before ANH eg. becoming an Imperial pilot?
6. What if the gun was set to kill and they took out Leia?
7. What if Leia decided to cooperate with the Empire as most Senators did?
8. What if Han arrived at Cloud City first?
9. What if the Rebels managed to destroy both Death Stars before ANH?
10. What if Lucas never made Attack of the Clones but instead incorporated parts into Revenge of the Sith...and what would the 3rd movie contain?

There's a way to look at things that is a little creepy in the SW universe: Destiny/fate seems be a very real force in the SW universe.

What the Force wants, the Force gets.

It makes a convenient excuse for the bad acting in Ep I - III: the Force needed Amidala and Anakin to fall in love. At that point, it's questionable if they had free will. They talk like robots because they were sort of like robots at that point.

For #1, if the Force needs Anakin, Obi-Wan wouldn't be able to kill him. But it seems that the Force was done with Anakin at that point: Anakin had basically broken the back of the Jedi Order (which was necessary to bring the two halves of the Force back into balance - the reason why he was born) and he had kids (necessary after giving the Emperor free rein to purge most of the surviving Jedi to make a new Jedi powerful enough to take down Emperor to restore balance to the Force once the Emperor had fulfilled his purpose of clearing away the calcified remnants of the Republic and so the Light Side wasn't purged completely), I don't think much at all would have changed if Obi-Wan had killed him.

What if a crossover of Star Trek Federation aids the Rebels ?
What if a crossover Doctor Who's Cybermen were upgrading the Sith ?

We're doomed...

Could resist...

If the Federation would be aiding the Rebels, it still would go down in defeat, as Empire could enlist help from those aliens on the other side of the Wormhole and I am sure the Klingons would gravitate toward the Empire and greater glory. One thing that gets lost in much of the Star Wars mythology is the Empire was not viewed as evil by most of its citizens but a source of stability which came at the price of increased bureaucracy but not evil. Whereas, a bunch of vigilante terrorists going around blowing up government installations and not caring about military personel and their families. Plus, maybe there is a few bad apples among the Moffs but the Emperor is above it all and really cares about us...unlike that corrupt Republic before it.

Also, as the Federation did not support the Marquee - why would they support the Rebels? Chances are one would easily see Jean Luc Picard in an Imperial uniform - afterall in SW all the baddies are British (or French or something like that).

Cybermen aiding the Sith? Only Vader was mechanical other Sith were quite independent. And, his cybernetics were faulty because the Emperor wanted to keep the dog on the leash. Countless examples exist of good cybertech in the SW universe - why wouldn't they put it into Vader/Sith because of the whole incompatibility between man and machine - unless those mitraclorins were nanobots augments the brain's latent psionic potential.

What about General Grievous? He is leader of the droid armies (and a cyborg himself), and a protégé of Count Dooku (Darth Tyranus), so he would be a natural link between the cybermen and the Sith.

SSsssh.

If we're not careful Lucas may take one of our ideas and replace a scene from Star War with it. Afterall, he continues to update content in each of the Star Wars films to fit his mood....

I guess but I always thought of Grievous more tied with Separatists than Sith. Both are related in that they are pawns of the larger game...

Anyhow, Grievous would retain the raspy mechanical voice (unless it was cybermen mk 1 - 10th Planet or Big Finish) and lose the cough.

Some more thoughts to mull

1. What if Ben killed Anakin outright (not from anger but combat).
2. What if the torpedo did not denotate on the First Death Star and Yarvin was toasted. Would there still be a Rebellion?
3. What if Shimii was freed too?
4. Does R2D2 remember anything from the first trilogy (as it seems like he has a vague memory of Ben).
5. Who is be sexier Leia or Mara Jade and win bikini competition the Galactic Beauty Pageant of the New Republic?

1. No Vader, so the Emperor trains a new Sith apprentice. Fast-forward to the Cloud City, and this Sith Lord has no reason to try to bring Luke over to the Dark Side (he would not have that blood tie, and would view "Darth Luke" as a rival for the Emperor's favor, not an ally against the Emperor).

Luke dies, Han, Leia, and Chewy never get rescued from Jabba, the rebellion sputters to a halt after the defeat at the second Death Star.

2. The rebellion sputters to a halt after the loss of not only its strategic leaders but also its popular figurehead/rallying point (Leia).

3. Anakin turns to the dark side due to the frustration of having to intercede in fights between his girlfriend and his mother (who thinks Padme is a gold-digging has-been who isn't good enough for her precious little Anny).

4. Even an R2 unit has a limited memory... and over the years a lot of his memory has been over-written with new files.

5. Leia. Mara is just too calculating.

PS: I just was googling to find out who Shimii was (didn't remember the name), and found this on a BBS from 1999:

If Darth Maul takes off his clothes, does that make him a Strip Maul?

Okay. Here's what I say to him (which I said before):

First, incorporate parts of Episode 3 into Episode 2, with Palpatine turning Anakin during Ep. 2. Then have the Empire declared in the first part of Ep 3, and have them drive the Separatists into hiding to form parts of the Rebellion, doing the same to some Senators.
I would have Anakin turn sometime during Episode 2, then be dark and not-cyborg, and, having already married Padme while still on his path to turning, get her pregnant for Ep. 3, and then be burned by lava in the first part of Ep. 3 and then spend the rest of the time driving her into hiding - and she would NOT die in childbirth; remember that in Ep. 6 Leia had some memory of her mother as a woman who was very sad.
One more point: the Separatists would be the ones who use clones, at least initially, and by Ep 2 would involve them cloning Jedi to turn dark. Oh, and the Republic would start using clones by Ep 2 as well, because the standing Army and Navy that they would have already had would be practically overwhelmed.
