General What ship should I design for 3d printing?

ANNIC NOVA. :alien::ROFLMAO:

(No, don't bother with making the Collector canopy retractable, just make interchangeable "folded" and "deployed" versions of it -- and the "deployed" one can be just the arms, to which a circular sheet of flat-black painted Mylar can be attached.)

... but do make the "manuever drives" pivot on the docking pylons!

Sorry, I do not know, did he do a full deck plan and write up for them or just this image?

I would love to see all three of the variations receive his treatment. I would buy that book in a heartbeat.

Other than the Type S scout, I tend to favor small merchants in games as ships for players. In areas of known piracy, there are usually established trade routes that have escorted convoys of merchants moving along them. The problem for players is convoying is an economic negative as you have to wait, sometimes, weeks to go on the convoy. Do you wait or risk going it solo?

Anyway, far traders like the Empress Marava or the Beowulf are what show up in games. I tend to try to avoid having players in serious combat since, unlike many other RPG, they tend to end up dead or wounded--often badly--as a result. Yea, combat is something to avoid, not seek out...

Howe about the Ross class? I always thought it should get a good 3D print.

Personally, I would rather go for a LEGO set design. I saw they have a scale Dune Ornithopter for sale at The Lego Store the other week. It seats 4 at least.

Also IIRC, there used to be an app that would help design LEGO models as well. The biggest challenge would be the curved plates on some starships.

Hmm. a scale LEGO Element Cruiser or Azhanti High Lightning to play in....

I’m thinking scale of 1.5 meter per stud. So a 2x4 plate would be 4 dtons. Characters would be a 1x1, probably best round and stacked two high for ease of movement.
