Background: I like the rules-free background book idea. Each volume a different era from some edition of the game. Should have background and equipment (no rules, just lists and descriptions) and ships too (no heavy stats, just J# and #G.
NPCs: Like the old GURPS book Supporting cast, with stats in G:T and Classic Traveller at the least, but focusing on descriptions and personalities. Each character would have era notes based on which one you are running.
Maps: Really good PDFs of the main sectors. Ones that print like the old Spinward Marches sector poster map (except make one version black on white so not use up all your ink/toner).
Locals: Generic starport locations and businesses with maps and NPCs. With era notes like the NPC stuff. Not tied to a specific startport, totally generic (maybe what would be likely as port and planet classes it might appear on).
