Sometimes posts seam to fall on deaf ears and go several days with very few people viewing or responding.

Sometimes a thread can take off and be so active that I post in it several times on the same day.

I know this has a lot to do with the topic. I'm wondering though, how much this may have to do with when people are most likely to log into the sight and thought I'd poll to see when people are most active.

For my own vote, I chose weekdays before work and during work as when I'm most often on the site. I also do check the site usually once in the evening and on weekend mornings.

All of the above for me, I am a full-time student right now. I keep myself logged in all the time and just surf through every once in a while. I just read 99% of the time though, I don't have much to say I guess.

Something else. I check usually three times a day for new posts that might interest me. Get up in morning, after work, before bed typical.

Whenever I have an opportunity.

Since CotI members are spread across the planet, and even the US has five hours difference from one coast to the other, I'm not sure how relevant login time is to the popularity of posts.

Having said that, my experience with the web in general suggests to me that the busiest period is around 2300 - 0300 GMT and the slackest period is around 0400 - 0800 GMT.

This in turn suggests that, wherever they are, most people surf after the kids have gone to bed, and that the heaviest traffic is centred on Eastern America and Western Europe.
No surprises there. :)

Edit: the current poll results showing weekend as second most popular surprises me though - I find this to be a slack time. <shrug>
Edit Edit: Doh, of course - only the weekenders have read and responded yet...

Ah, the magic of permanent disability: I'm on here all hours! (not sick or injured, just, you know:  crazy...)

Welcome aboard TomeGnome :D

I see you jumped right in too, both feet without looking. QUICK! Somebody fill.. the pool... ah, never mind, the artificial gravity is off anyway.

Yep, you're gonna fit right in here... ;)

To paraphrase Simon Pegg: "Watching where you're going takes all the fun out of it."

Which may explain why my Wheeled Vehicle skill is a negative integer...
