• Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
  • We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.

Who are we?

Greetings one and all.

It would appear that the form is to introduce oneself in this forum so I guess I'd better get on with it.

Name: Andy Jenner.
Age: best not dwelt on (40 and regressing to my student days).
Country: UK (South West near Bristol).
Favorite Version: Classic Traveller (yes I have the LBB's and the Traveller Handbook in hardback).

"Oh damn - somebody's seen through my online personna"

Sorry Straybow, I'm afraid that Civil Engineers just arn't that imaginative - those that are either become architects or have it trained out of them!

Actually TDL was once a character name - we were all going through a rather odd phase at the time with character names.

It's the almost perpetual cloud cover. Better to stay inside than risk being burnt by a suprise visit from The Great Ball of Fire in the Sky. ;)

Seriously though it's a pretty good state to game in and Origins is there with Gencon just the next state over. Not bad to live in either but I am biased. ^_^ Just be prepared to like or tolerate football and golf.

I used to live in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Which is another location of only occasional glimpses of that thing they show on TV called the Sun, so I suppose I had to find another place that resembled it.

Welcome Piper :D

You have much reading and posting ahead of you.

All of it benifits the rest of us and advances the Traveller game(IMHO).

Perhaps the Site shorthand thread is a good place to start ;)

Name: As posted (Not imaginative enough to create a board name when my own has worked fine the past 9 terms)
Age: Figure it out (I start term 10 in Sept this year)
Stats: 975C9(D if you count school of hard knocks)7 [managed to save all but endurance)
Homeworld: Lodge/SS of South Carolina/USA sector
Present home: Knoxville/SS of Tennessee/ USA sector
Military: 2 terms USNavy (nuclear power branch)
Skills: computer 2, handgun 2, rifleman 2, electronics 0,[hobbies]; mechanical 4, engineering 2, draftsman 1, [3 terms as machinest + military traning]; carpentry 0, electrician 1, plumbing/pipefitter 0, [odd jobs]; fast food 5, customer service 5 (do these = steward 5 ?)[3 = terms in fast food (2 terms in management)] instruction 3, JOT 5, thelogy 1, plus a handfull of others at 0 level (hense JOT 5)
Favorite version: CT/MT/MTU blend
Favorite sector: Spinward Marches
Favorite world: the next one I roll up or visit
Favorite ship: Far, Fat trader (my own design)
Favorite adventure: spec purchase of 15 tons of "forms" -turned out to be currency. After conversion from local currency, my share was 50 - 60 MCr
I have played and refereed and am trying to convert all the design sequences to Excell, which is how I discovered this site.
Current project: a pocket empire in TNE (will most likely use the rules blend above)[In addition to the programming]
My theory of playing Traveller: The idea is to have fun. When discussions about the rules get out of hand; take a food break while discussing how to resolve the problem so it is fair and fun to all involved; make that adjustment to YTU; return to having fun.

Correction: I started term 10 last Sept. (2004)
