X-boat and Service Hull

SOC-12
Texturing is finished! The windows are all still just look into empty geometry (no interior details yet) but exterior modeling and textures are pretty much done. As you can see, "Hippity - Hop To It" have been through a lot together in their long career adventuring. The paint has faded, rust is starting to set in, and the hull has taken a few knocks.

Lol...you ever sometimes get TOO close to a project, and the device that pulls your head out of your butt sometimes fails to activate? Yeah, this is one of those times. Dunno why, but while texturing away, my brain said "Hey, it needs burn marks from reentry, and a little rust too...."

So I guess I better go back and fix that. While I'm at it, I think the X-boat needs a little more hull plating...looks pretty bare compared to the service hull, don'tcha think?

Anyway, here's a clean shot.

Ya know, I never thought of placing the staterooms at the toop of the pods ... Good Call ... Really looks great man, best of luck with the Freelance thing.

Happens a lot to me. It's always good to have another set of eyes that aren't too involved in the process.

Service Hull bonus renders

Now that the Freelance Traveller article is out, I thought I'd put up a few of the other renders done for it as a little bonus.

Techical Manual 1 released

Okay, I've put up the first of my LBB format Technical Manuals for your perusal here. Let me know what you all think.

1: Plan Scaling
Plans should be scaled such that they actually hit 1/4" squares, OR so that the illo fills the page. Which means, in either case, either 2-pg spreads and/or rotating the image.

2:White space
Lots of white space. Too much.
The illos in the back are mostly just a hair past half-a-page each, with a 2 line caption.
deckplans have similar use issues.

3: Not formatted as an LBB.
the front cover and back cover are set to a 5x8 image on a 8.5x11 page.
In fact, it's an 8.5x11" layout.

Nice work as far as it goes.
