Travel Mertactor Starlines... Today!

I wish I could use my spare time like you do. Maybe I'd have a Traveller campaign plotted out, or maybe a better job.

But you've done well with this.

Very nice. Couple of comments:

* How many companies are involved? A line is one company. A liner is one ship. So wouldn't it either be Mertactor Starline or Mertactor Starliners?

* IMTU I'd also offer Economy passages. Two people sharing one stateroom. Even with the inexplicably high cost of Cr2000 in life support for ten days, you will still save a hefty chunk of change if you're willing to put up with a cabin-mate for a bit over a week. And if you don't offer it, you know someone registered on Collace or Trexalon will. ;)

* I'd expect such a brochure to list the actual names of the company's liners (Well, not all 20 Maravas, but at least the more prominent Stellars).

Great idea. I'll look at ship names, why didn't I think of that!
I'll change the company title, too, I was confused by lines. Thanks.

It's a great diversion. Fluff of the highest order. A bit like detailing naval logistics when you know you'll never need them, you just work on it for a bit of fun :)

I love the brochure! Really nice piece of chrome.

Couple points to contribute - I like the pic of the low berths, because it's really funny and grim alongside the pic of the plush stateroom - but if one were going for a more "realistic" way of advertising low passage, I'd throw in a bit more doubletalk and try to make it look kinda cushy too. Not "the frozen option" but along the lines of:

Cryogenic Travel in safe, economical suspended animation: in our expert hands you'll be there before you know it! Wake up to a new world. 10kg baggage allowance; no refunds.

For a pic, maybe something like this: http://dvice.com/pics/sleeping_pod.jpg

or this:

Everyone knows low passage isn't luxurious, but it won't stop the advertisers from trying to make it look like the best way to go! The same way pet food companies try to make catfood seem like something you'd want to eat yourself. MMM! Tilapia!

The Far Trader "Porozlo"[1]? "Note that actual shipboard berths may appear different to illustration"?

Dude, I thought I was going to wet myself. Very nicely done, sir. Very nicely done.

How do you know stuff like that? :)

Its a great name ... but there are loads of great names in the Spinward Marches to choose from (with the exception of Whanga and Knorbes of course).

Background information for Twilight's Peak, IIRC.

Yep, Twilight's Peak planted the memory of a memory; the Traveller Wiki helped me with the details.

(It was a case of, "Hey, 'Porozlo'... There was something about that world... let me hit the wiki. Oh man, it's the 'Battle of Serenity'!)

Wochiers was always our "go-to" stupid world name. But that's only because we decided that the "Whanga Tango" was a subsector-wide popular dance. ;)

Heh, feel kind of sorry for all those Singapore girls who've had their image pirated for the sake of our favorite imaginary universe :D

Little do they know they are travelling between the stars in a future thousands of years from today!

(for a bit of fun ....)
