Other T5 Products?

A bunch of the optional swag from the Kickstarter will probably become official products available to anyone. Things like the dice set, tshirts, CD-ROM, Jump Drive. I also assume that the printed core rulebook will be available, although probably not the 2 higher-end fancy pants versions.

Has there been any word yet on what might become available, and when?

Traveller 5 Products

There is one that featured as a Kickstarter.

The details are here:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1376833843/fat-cat-far-trader-print-edition?ref=live

I'm still awaiting details to order, but there are some nice things with this publication, such as both 15mm and 25mm deck plans. I'm looking forward to placing an order and receiving it shortly.

What I'm hoping for, besides a stack of new Traveller adventures to go with T5, is to finally have a complete and extensive update to all the Race books. Besides Mongoose, only Classic has ever completed the complete Race canon(major races in any case). If you havn't seen it yet, just take a look at the stunning book that never made it to the publishers but you can now check it out in all it's glory on the T4 CDROM available from the FFE order site.

By this stage the detail was becoming exquisite if not breath taking. The book is something like 256 pages+ and only details 3 of the major races.

I can only imagine what would be possible now with T5 without the hassles of deadlines and the ability to put together the work that Marc and co have wanted to do for years.

Looking forward to all the new T5 material not to mention my groovy Traveller dice set when it arrives. (Seriously, for those who didn't jump on the band wagon, the new rule book looks simply stunning. In fact it may very well hold the record for the most complete, not to mention largest tome ever released for an RPG).

Yes I asked Marc a couple of weeks ago and he said that the dice and CD-Rom etc will most probably be available for purchase by anyone but the T shirts are having to be ordered so they may not be.

I was actually more interested in finding out when the book itself will be hitting the UK shops but he didnt say anything about that.

The dice are really neat. 19mm is larger than typical, but not casino-huge. They're noticeably heavy. The numbers are inset, so they'll wear better than the old Traveller dice. I like 'em lots.

Reply moved to new thread in Lone Star re Race Books as not really on-topic for this one.

I'm hoping to see a stack of adventures, some set in milieux different than the Default one.

It would be nice to see some fans develop rich ATUs to publish, as well.

Yes, buying the four CT disks from FFE gives an idea to the incredible breadth of material, and that doesn't include the awesome user generated content.

Next to your awesome shipyard and sector generators, it would be cool to see another Heaven and Earth for T5 as well.

One can see the rusty nickle I am throwing into that genepool:

Ultimately I'd like to have a pdf with access features so one could look at the whole sector map, and then drill down into subsectors and then individual worlds by clicking on them.

Sort of, but for subsectors you get the S3 treatment and for worlds, more like you get the IS8&9 and at least a paragraph write up.

Right now it is very much MOARN, but I will have more time in the summer to work on it, that and raiding a local bookstore's basement of used sci-fi to read at a local cafe.

T5 Essential World Cards Collection

I'm not sure if anyone else got the ultra cool surprise I received a few years ago when purchasing the Classic canon on CDROM, but there was a collector card titled T5 for REGINA. This was great and gave a nice picture and breakdown of the world along with it's stats and location. Add to that, there was clear indication of which survey the data came from.

A couple of hundred of these would be well received(why not a few thousand. :) ) and could be housed in a handy card flip refadex.

Yeah, there's the online Travellermap.com. but the cards had a nice picture of each world, so as players travel to other worlds, they could check out the card.

I'd really like to see these T5 worlds cards become a reality. There used to be a website link at:www.farfuture.net/cards, but sadly that no longer seems to be available.

PLEASE CONSIDER bringing them back as I for one loved this idea. We have terrific new T5 dice sets about to arrive in our door set, why not complement the system with reference cards.

I would love, love, to publish my alternative Milieu 0 setting (well more Milieu 25.) I'm trying to set up my own small publishing company, but while I'd like to it's probably unlikely that I'll be able to publish stuff like that due to licensing.

It just depends on how you phrase it, so to speak. In other words, there's always a way. Ask Marc.

I would love to help with a writeup of Regina. I have a couple of tens of thousands words on contemporary and historical background material for Regina by now. Plus there's the Regina Startown introductory campaign that John G. Wood, Mark Gellis, and I wrote for JTAS Online. That just has to be backdated to 1105.
