Order and download worked fine here too. Time permitting, I hope to have Ch1 & 2 read tonight.

The discussion area is listed under "Playtest" on the main CotI Board that lists all of the other boards. It's all the way at the bottom.

Thanks for the help, DED ;) , but I don't mean the discussion area/forum.
The Playtest Center is where you download the files from. I was just thinking about how to get back in when future chapters are made available.

I spent three hours reading the playtest files last night, and I think I can get away with saying that I think they are really darn good. :D

If you're remotely interested in TNE, then sign up for this playtest - it's not just about what goes on post-1200, it's very useful for a straight TNE game too.

Do it now.

Signal GK folks!

I guess I must have messed something up, I can't access the link to the forum or to download. I get the dreaded "download no longer available" message.

Thanks!

Well I can access the playtest area and forum, but can't get the login to work. Have PM'd Hunter though and need to change the ink cart anyway.

;)

Asu though is chomping at the bit to get all Virusified. (this may explain much about Virus...AsuStrain Virus  )

[EDIT] Helps if you remember your current password. :D

Try going here - http://www.travellerrpg.com/Playtest/

You should find you have access. The 1248 Playest Forum is listed at the bottom of the CotI main page as well.

No such luck I'm afraid. Thanks for the link though, but I guess I'll have to wait until the GRIPREG folks get in touch with me.

Hunter,

I nearly did this, I can probably justify the US$30 to the wife ... but the US$17.50 shipping costs on top of it is just too much.

Sorry,

Sorry,
I did cringe at that too. That's rather a lot for surface mail. But Hunter did mention in an email to me that if that postage cost can cover it, it will go out by airmail instead. I wouldn't take that as official word on it unless it comes straight from him here though.

I wonder if they should have an option where one pays for the full PDF version (ie no postage) only? Though I guess that would mean charging less for the final product if no hardcopy book is involved.

I'd love to just buy the PDF.

I prefer PDFs to books -- you can search 'em, copy and paste bits into cribsheets, and if you have a decent monitor and environment (lighting, chair) I find they're they're easier to read than books (which are heavy and won't open flat).

I dunno about you guys, but I ordered it with overseas shipping and it still charged me $30.95.

It looks like shipping may be included with it.

Looks like you got lucky then. The order receipt I have shows a total payment of $48.50. I kinda just swallowed it.

- Neil.

Picked mine up last night. Everything went well, and US shipping brought the total up to $34.80 for me.

Hope this helps,
Flynn

No, I got charged $48.50 for it too. 65 Canadian dollars... ouch. This had better have a LOT of pages!!

I'd like to get in on the playtest as well. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be going about this the right way, when I go to the playtest page, I can't fine a link for the 1248 sourcebook. Help!

You need to go here - http://www.travellerrpg.com/cgi-bin/Trav/CotI/playtest.pl

Go through the ordering process, hand over your credit card details and Bob's your aunt's husband.

This isn't a normal playtest, you are effectively placing an order for hardcopy version of the book and getting to playtest it first as a bonus.
