2320 progress report

It looks like I'm going to be just shy of 200,000 words. That's AFTER a major edit. At this point, its pretty much up to Martin what stays (waves at Martin). I'm hoping for all of it, of course, but 200,000 words is a massive book.

Did I ever mention that I have a 65lb compound bow? "Colon" indeed.

Well, since it's aboutnthe ONLY T20 "total conversion" (to borrow a term from the videogaming industry) I'm even interested in (I hated HH... and have never even heard of the third...)

Eagerly awaiting.

Here's where I'm at: After a rather rough weekend (septic system backed up, and I had to have one of our cats put down) I'm back to the editing. I'm currently going through the Core and Frontier data to make sure the populations and other information is consistent. Several large chunks of the rest will be going out today.

Aliens section is nearly finished editing. The Ylii were rough, as they are the most complex of the races.

Technology, equipment, personal armor and weapons just has to go through a spellcheck and quick read-over.

Design systems are done. (Vehicles, starships, colonies)

Starships are done (with one exception...)

Vehicles are about half done. All civilian vehicles are done, I'm just waiting for the military ones to come back.

The printout I'm reviewing was 656 pages, 197,000 words, and that's without the NSL.

Not a great shot with that 65lb bow, but I have lots of arrows.

One book. That's 656 pages 1.5 spaced, single-column, 10-pt Verdana type. Figure about half that page count, maybe a bit more, for a printed book with illustrations.

Colin 2320AD writer,
Certifiable nutcase.

Ah, 400 doesn't seem so bad for a book with rules and design systems and so on as well as a setting.

Does it still need the T20 book to play?

Yes, it does. The design sequences are plugins for the T20 design sequences, including ships, vehciles and colony worlds. The only character classes included in the book are colonist and journalist, along with three prestige classes: Alien Technologies Expert, Special Forces, and Troubleshooter. It includes rules for using several classes from the upcoming T20 player's handbook, but the current T20 handbook will work quite well.

The majority of the book is setting, I do believe. I don't have a breakdown in front of me, though. There are also changes for the starship combat system, along with personal and vehicle combat.

Nothing pithy to go here. Sorry.

Please say that the war continues on into the "present." I've got a PBIRC campaign set on Aurore I want to try out as part of the playtest.

from what little I know (so I could be wrong)about the Kafer war it fairly much stalls on the French arm after Overlord (beound some experdisions)leaving afetr action engagments with some Kafer holdouts. but I think their are a few experdisions on to the Yank/Aussie arm by the Kafers and I can't see them not startig a new war ASAP. also I would like to see a 1st edision (and or TNE) compatible converson book as I know meney people not overly fused with the Borg of RPG's (dosen't D20 feal that way)also i would like to see somthing else going on apart from the Kafers.

Lots of stuff going on besides Kafers. Worlds to explore, aliens to meet, things happening.

As far as conversions go, I do have notes for converting characters, but that's about it. TNE conversions are only a gelam in my eye, but I did run a 2300 campaign awhile back using the TNE rules.
