Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
Hirch, sounds like you're letting the player get the codecs it needs, but with DivX you have to install them yourself from http://www.divx.com/divx/download/
"Andrew, you have a special talent."
Shh...I've told you not to mention it in public...
Try the VLC player from http://www.videolan.com
Win, Mac, Linux, all codecs, all the time... Well not quite but more or less any format or codec will play in it.
At the moment it lowers perfectly evenly and just stops dead.
For more realism, try adding in some random elements. Have it settle gradually at an angle, letting one leg touch down first and then the others. Also have it lower slowly onto the suspension. Maybe have it yaw round slightly as it settles too.
Have the camera move sideways slightly.
Thanks! Not bad considering it's the first time I've tried it - the hardest part was finding a decent background photo. The lighting needs a bit more work, but that can wait until I finish texturing the ship.
I know, it's the fact that it's *green* that's the problem - I've already desaturated it quite a bit from where it was originally. I kept tweaking it, trying to get it to look *right*...and ended up with nearly grey, so I sort of compromised with this shade.
