Yep, cover, concealment and maneuver become much more important at longer ranges.

A rifleman with an electronic sight in a concealed firing position can ruin you day.

Hit the dirt, and either begin flanking maneuvers while laying down suppresive fire, call in a support weapon/airstrike etc., stay put and hope he gets bored, or crawl away to a much safer distance.

Hand comp/communicator
a weapon
light armour
multifunction pocket tool
flashlight
med kit

what else?
thats probably a good selection simple
un-complicated & to the point. you could
add the option of the 1 slot for a "career"
based item like stated by someone...

the one you listed above really covers
everyone though fairly well it could
even cover "civilans" that never "join"
one of the career choices you have
as some never do service....

Agent it is then

Maybe also a "Professional" career, for stuff like bureacrats, scientists and (Gods Preserve Us) office workers.

Not yet, there are a couple of other things to add (plus I don't know how to do PDFs, and I haven't got a web site to post it to...).
