Welcome to the edge of the Traveller universe: to the Apocrypha-- materials published under license from Game Designers' Workshop. Apocrypha I includes the licensed Traveller materials from FASA and GameLords. These pages provide fast, easy access by title. Books are PDF. Appendices link to an overview page with access to JPGs.

http://www.farfuture.net/cdroms.html

Includes, but is not limited to, the hard-to-find (well, hard for me to find anyway) Legend of the Sky Raiders (the whole trilogy actually); Adventure Class Ships, Books 1, 2, and 3; and the "Environment" books.

Here's the full contents list [pdf].

There's related freebies for download:

Guide to FASA Traveller [pdf] includes thumbnails of all the deckplans and maps on pages 6-7.

Guide to GameLords Traveller [pdf].

I'll be ordering them when I have the funds.

One quibble on the "Guide to Gamelords Traveller". It states that the following are unpublished: The Arctic Environment; Faldor, Planet of Adventure; Rogues In Space I; and Rogues In Space II.

All of these were published in the Cargonaut Press Lost Supplements Collection.

I ordered it. Mu ha haa haa haaaa.

I want this one more than I want JTAS. There's stuff here I've never read before.

ordered as well(1). too bad the PDF links are not wanting to work currently. Not sure who does that web site but there are always issues with it.

I could wait for Father's Day, but that's so far away!

(1) cue equally evil laugh as per earlier post!

there are several talented people here who would do it for free CDs I'm sure. Or even for free.

Oh well, not my call, and I'm no web programmer either.

I'll be buying this as well.

But...I caught it too...why aren't these items included? Is there some rights issue at stake?

Not to derail the discussion, but is there a CD collection for the Traveller Digest? Those things are nigh impossible to get at any price. If not, is it likely to ever happen?

Not while Roger Sanger is being obstinate.

Sigh...

I can explain some things here...

First, the Cargonaut Press releases added material which were not created by the Keiths. I've tried to reach Paul Sanders (some of you might remember my posts asking for contact info). We haven't been able to reach him, so the Cargonaut Press material is in the off-limits pile (for now).

Second, DGP. Some of you know that Roger Sanger and I have stayed in contact over the years. Roger and Marc have talked and discussed the DGP material, and it remains in the "secondary sources" canon pile. Roger is "considering" options for release, but there are some issues there. Until everyone can work through those issues, the DGP material is still on the rare list. Currently, Roger is a hard man to reach because of his triathalon training schedule. But, I know for a fact that he and Marc have talked, and continue discussions. I don't see the status changing this year, but (admittedly), I never expected them to talk every again either. So, cross your fingers and pray. At least it's gone from impossible to not likely.

Third, High Passage/Far Traveller. Most folks don't know that FASA didn't own High Passage, it had it's own company (HPG, High Passage Group). Also, the two issues of Far Traveller are owned by Seeker. So those items aren't listed on the FASA CD. It's very likely that the four HP issues will see show up on a future FFE CD. Seeker's plans for Far Traveller and their other Traveller releases are unknown to me (but I do know Marc has talked to them). I'd love to see those deck plans on a CD...

Hope that settles some of the questions. If you have more, I'll try to get answers for them...

Just out of interest, which of the Cargonaut items were not created by the Keiths. I have the collection and apart from the computer game, novel, and 'Imperial Calendar' all the rest seems to be Keith material.

There were 5 HP issues published.

Other questions - any leads on the 2 unpublished FASA adventures? IIRC there also was another Building Plan set planned in addition to the Hotel Complex one.

And...thanks for all your hard work!

Starviking

P.s. Did you get the help you needed for the TNE project? Things were busy for me at the time and so I didn't respond. However, I don't have my extensive collection to hand - but I do have a pretty good memory ;)

Paul had to flesh out some elements from the Keith's draft, and holds the copyright on the pubished edition as a derivative copyright of the Keith's unpublished work copyright. Exactly how much, I can't say, but at least the layout.

Aramis is right... and until Marc can reach Paul Sanders and settle things, the Cargonaut material goes into the untouchable stack. Which is very unfortunate... I hate seeing any Keith material linger.

HP: right, 5 issues. No leads on the unpublished FASA material; presumably the authors have the material.

I believe the other building plan was released by Seeker.

I did get the TNE assistance I was looking for.

It seems tempting to just go for a digital download, but I'm concerned that download versions might be more compressed or have some kind of DRM nonsense or water marking.

What's the story on download PDF's from DriveThru, am I just better off waiting with baited breath for the CDROM to arrive?

the CD is going to be less than the DTRPG, and yes, the DTRPG stuff is watermarked on the bottom left of each page with your name and order number.

I just ordered mine. Decided to check the site since I haven't been hitting Traveller sites lately-which is a good thing since I checked my spam today & found the official notice in my spam folder.

It will good to have the Skyraiders Trilogy again, the second book was the first Traveller campaign I ran. I'm also glad to have the 'Enviroment' books. Used to have all the FASA & Gamelords books. Still have the 2 Adventurer class, the Merchant class, & the Aslan Merc ship plans. The wife would only let sell the damaged deckplan sets- & the 2nd Adventure class ships she bought me as a present 2 years ago to replace my earlier set.

Between this CD-Rom & having hot water again in the house; life is good.
