FFE Classic Traveller Reprints

I've been enjoying it - it's stuff I missed entirely first time around. It appears that as time went on there was less and less Traveller material, which isn't surprising, so the last few issues aren't much more than the masthead, the editorial, and an article or two. The earlier chapters are chock full of stuff, however.

after the apparent hassle of the latest edition i would wait a few weeks before you ask

of course the best way to encourage the next one is to make sure sales of this one are strong so BUY BUY BUY

From an e-mail I recived from Marc back in May of this year

Second Survey has not been dropped, but its date is uncertain.

More CT reprints are planned. Modules. Book+Adventure. possibly FASA modules. possibly Gamelords modules.

Is Marc actually ever going to do anything new with Traveller? Or is he just planning on reprinting more supplements that become progressively more obscure with time?

What do you mean by "new"?

Both SJG (with Interstellar Wars) and QLI are producing new Traveller material. QLI (as you know) is working on 1248, which will finally start moving the Traveller timeline forward.

All of these effects require the input and agreement of Marc to perform.

As for T5, I doubt Marc can do anything with that while the SJG and QLI licenses are still active. I doubt T5 will ever see the light of day until one (or both) of those licenses end.

I doubt FFE will ever do anything other than reprint old stuff. I imagine doing new stuff (e.g. T5) would be too "risky" to do under the FFE banner, and would need to be done through a licensee.

Besides, what "new" are you looking for?

Oh, forgot to mention, I got my JTAS Reprint 3. So that means the preorders shipped, too.

Also, the book covers all the way through Challenge 36, not just 33. I imagine the reason is because 33 included the first article on IRIS, and 34 and 36 included the second and third parts. The really cool part of this is that the Traveller article from 35 is quite nice.

The really sad part is seeing how badly Traveller/MegaTraveller had been "phased out" by GDW at the time.
