jic folk haven't heard, the movie's been delayed until September of 2005 in a good way.
If you believe the morons who post at Aint It Cool News, they declared that they Studio has no confidence in the movie and are sticking it in September which is throw-away month for movies.

I stopped going to AICN months ago. Putting the movie out in a month without heavy competition (what I assume "throw-away month" means) would IMO be a good thing as witnessed by the fairly recent examples of Star Trek: Nemesis and Alexander; both were released during a prime heavy month but might have done better if released at another time of year.

<shrugs> I tend to go by what Joss says or some of the more reliable Joss 'shipper sites. Dark Horizons is good for a more general site. Zap2it's another though more a tv site. Rick Norwood's Babylon 5.1 column on the SF site is fairly good too. He's biased but admits his biases up front, which is admirable.

Essentially the arguement of a lot of anti-Firefly "TalkBackers" was that September is one of the months where studios put bad movies that no one wants to see. However, as I said, they didn't like Firefly to begin with, so...

Miniphant Ai’xiao, strolls by, copy of Serenity in trunk (living in the Far Future does come with some perks), and bumps this thread!

If there are any resources not already in the thread please post them here. Also any dead links.

Thanks. No real links on the Serenity RPG yet, though there was some discussion with the company making the game on rpg.net (?) when it was announced.

Preview of the Serenity RPG from a con.

As a Deadlands, Piquet, and Stargrunt fan I like the use of different die types. I just hope combat is faster than Deadlands.
Plot points could be fun, and I like similar concepts in Adventure!, Unisystem Cinematic, and Spycraft. I also like the equipment list for Alice-May Winters: navy pistol, jumpsuit, lipstick, chewing gum. ^_^

Thanks to Captain Tylor for finding this link!

From the images, the game seems VERY Savage Worlds-esque. Multiple polyhederals rolled to make a difficulty number. Looks good. I'm having my friend pick me up a copy at GenCon.

Wow! The Serenity deckplans are gorgeous. I was considering doing that to the existing fan deckplans but now there's no point =)

Grr...

What exactly were you after Andrew? If it's the pdf deckplans I can email them to you. They're only about 100kb total. Just drop me a PM with your addy.

Ah, no, you probably mean the much keener graphic deckplans on the preview site above. Can't help a lot there I guess :(

;) or maybe...

I found the chinese language sites interesting. I don't know how to curse in Chinese but I do know how to speak some after living here for a few years. (I do know how to curse in Arabic though) The insult I found interesting is Panda Piss. Xiong Mau Nai. (panda literally translates to cat bear) I found it amuzing but never heard it used. A tearm I like to use from time to time is mamahuhu. Which translates to horse horse tiger tiger. the meaning is mediocre or substandard.

Last night I made myself a Firefly screensaver.
I grabbed myself an AVI of the opening credits and then used a free AVI screensaver program to run it as a screensaver.

Lovely. Just thought I'd share.
