Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
The breakdown used to be in the forum faqs on the old system but I don't see them here. It's not linear. I don't recall the break points. I have no idea if the same system is still in use.
The Soc ratings are dependant (or were) on the number of posts. More participation higher Social rating. They translate to the T20 scale though, not the CT one. For example your Soc 12 in T20 is "Educated Professional" (about Soc 8 in CT).
Special notations, such as Hunter's "Ancient" are the marks of distinction for board elite. People running things and founders, and the odd squeaky wheel that catches a lucky break
Noble rankings, like my Knighthood, are attained the old fashioned way, bought and paid for I speak of the entirely voluntary site subscription that has some fringe benefits, all of which are equally accessible to all members of The Moot. The only distinction is the more generous you are the higher your title.
Ahhhh! You meant the individual's SOC rank! Yes - just as F-T says.
But, if you bought a title and it's not displaying, you need to go to your profile and turn it on. Otherwise, you will continue to see the SOC determination.
Evidently, I'm SOC-14, now - with 3200+ posts. I think I've been at that number for quite a while now - it may be the highest you can go without buying a peerage.
