Forums back up?

I take it the forums are back up? I tried my old link, but got the 404 page instead. I wound up going to Travellerrpg.com instead, and finagling my way in here

Anyway, it's good to have the forums back.

You probably had a very old link to the original forums. I had kept the old forums in place with a redirect to the newer forums, but with this server move I decided to dump the old forum data since it was dead weight at this point.

Actually, I have the direct link here (not the old one, I deleted it long ago), but got the "forum is down while we do some work" message for more than 24 hours.

Actually, I have the direct link here (not the old one, I deleted it long ago), but got the "forum is down while we do some work" message for more than 24 hours.

That's because everything was being transfered to the new server. I had to shut down the forums so I had a complete copy of the database. It took most of a day to zip, download, upload, and import all of the pages, images, and databases. Then the domain name had to propagate.

All in all it was a pretty fast and painless move

Well thanks to Far Trader, I'm back. I had the old link, but no luck with the shorten it to basics trick. And even bombed on a search - likely due to my lack of spelling prowess (spelling skill level minus 3.)
